Wellston isn't build for a track meet.
They have a couple of burners but they wouldn't be able to keep up for 4 quarters in a high scoring game.
Athens 49
Wellston 13

Athens Harbin Points L1 of 26.5 and L2 of 56

If Athens wins L1 of 4.5 and L2 of 12.5. Warren will lose to Weir. Meigs will lose to Jackson. Alexander will lose to NY. RV will probably beat Vinton. Watkins plays D3 Granville. A Watkins win will add 5.5 to Athens. Won't be a big Harbin Point week for Athens

Wellston killed Athens with those short screen passes last year. Wellston always has speed

Rooting for the Rockets here, but Athens clearly is the favorite I think.

As bad as I want a win for the Rockets. I say:

Athens: 42
Wellston: 8

Athens defensively is not very physical, I think we can move the ball and score points.

Just not sure we can outscore them.

Closer than what some think.

He was a good player, but not the best athlete on the field that night.

We were up 3 scores. We beat ourselves he didn't. But you got the W and that is all that matters.

I still think this game will be closer than many expect.

LOL "He was a good player" - Z was a great player. Junior year/ 76 receptions, 1169 yards & 17 touchdowns. Senior year moved to running back and had 2,112 rushing yards (8.4 avg) with 37 touchdowns. Hell of an athlete and was without a doubt the best football player on the field during your loss to the Bulldogs last year.

What? Saltzmen is one of the best athletes to ever play football at Athens. He was not only the best player that night, he was the best player in the TVC. Any other players playing for a college like Georgetown from last year?

Look I am not arguing with you guys on this years thread about last years game.

I said (on this years game) I thought we could move the ball and score some points.

Then someone had to butt in about a running back from last year with some comments on that. I agreed he was a good player but said he was not the best athlete on the field that night last year. Now here we are you Athen's elitists all up in arms because of that. I didn't say he wasn't the best football player, I said he wasn't the best athlete on the field. Read a little better before chiming in. Womeldorf was the best athlete on the field and he was in blue. And yes he is playing college ball as well.

Back to present time (I know you all still think it is 2014).

I think we will score points this year, just not sure we can match Athens score for score.

Womeldorf was a Hell of an athlete. You would be hard pressed to find another player on any football field in our area to match his athleticism. He always have Oak Hill fits, whether with his arm or feet. Oak Hill beat Wellston 22-15 in 2013 at Wellston and he single handedly kept them in the game. One of the few performances I've seen where a QB had over 200 passing and rushing yards apiece in one game.
