Re: WK4 (2-1) Wellston @ (1-2) West
Has potential to be one of the better games around.. Hope the rockets get the win..

Rockets will move to 3-1, O-line moving some people and opening some lanes, I like our chances in this one.

Seen west play twice now, they lost to an inferior team in Portsmouth because of all the turnovers and played a better team in coal grove tooth n nail. Idk anything about wellston so can't say nothing there. One consistency I've seen out of this young west team is they freaking hustle! They hit hard and play all 4 quarters. Young QB who has really good accuracy if he's not pressured, and he improved dramatically from week 2. If wellston overlooks west they will get beat.

Wellston whipped up on West pretty good last year. How is Wellston compared to last year?

I like the Golden Rockets in this one!!
And that's the bottom line, b/c Stone Cold said so....

Two tough losses by total of 12 points to solid football teams. Wellston is solid and Raceland next week seems to be rolling everyone. Then at Minford and at Waverly. Tough stretch for sure.

Re: WK4 (2-1) Wellston @ (1-2) West
This one is a toss up. Not real sure on how to gauge West. But, Wellston on the other hand came out as flat as a could be last Friday and were lucky Adena gave them a few gimme plays on defense for turnover's. only one of three interception's by Wellston's defense were from making a play on the ball, the rest were over throws that landed in the secondaries hands. They were beat all night on under neath routes and screens, they were timid on coming up to make a play on those routes not sure if they were afraid of the long ball or not but that needs a little adjusting. Offensive line struggled to make holes through the first 2 and a half quarters of the game. The reason Wellston won was they slowly wore down a less conditioned team. #13 ran well for what he had to work with along with #7. If Wellston comes out slow West wins by a few. If Wellston comes out gunning like they did against Huntington Wellston Will take the W. So I say if Wellston comes out firing:
Wellston: 35
West: 21
If not:
Wellston 14
West: 28
Wellston: 35
West: 21
If not:
Wellston 14
West: 28

Good luck Rockets. Give em some good old fashioned smash mouth brand of football, wear them down and take care of the ball and you'll be 3-1!!!
Re: WK4 (2-1) Wellston @ (1-2) West
One thing about West this year, they are in excellent condition and they play a lot of guys. Only two guys are playing the majority of the games both ways and that's been because of a couple injuries. I've seen 1 West player cramp in 3 games and it was at the end of the game and was one of those 2 guys.
They generally wear the other team down. Coal Grove looked done at one point, West just couldn't run the ball between the tackles when they needed to inside the 5 to get the win.

You're definitely on point with this post. Having the ball a couple times inside the 10 and not punching it in was the difference in the game.Westfan wrote:One thing about West this year, they are in excellent condition and they play a lot of guys. Re: WK4 (2-1) Wellston @ (1-2) West
Game day! This matchup is looking like one of the more interesting ones tonight, given the statements above looks like neither team will get away with just wearing out the other, which hopefully means it will take a sound game on both sides of the football to get the win. A year ago Wellston put together it's best game on both sides of the ball against West, it seems like they will have to do that again. Weather for game time looks great and ready to hit the road after work to go watch. Good luck to both teams Game day prediction:
Wellston: 28
West: 21
Wellston: 28
West: 21
