That's a new one. Idt I've heard of Logan being used before. It doesn't sound kind to burg, but they'll travel well & fill it up!
Go burg!

Playoff question for Ironton fans.

What playoff games have you played at Jackson? Think I remember Westfall, maybe New Lex or Heath.

Anyone know if Portsmouth West played a playoff game at Jackson once?

The ironton tribune must have saw a different game. I'm all for being a homer, but that write up was absurd.

West has not played at Jackson. They have played at Nelsonville York and Logan.

Fluke pass??
Fling and a prayer??
Shut down the run game??

Did he really watch the game?

The Burg went to the pass more because they obviously saw something about Irontons secondary they could exploit and did. Ironton just couldn't cover the Burgs speedy and elusive receivers so the Pirates used that to their advantage. When they chose to run the ball they got the yardage they needed.

Actually if you watched the game he's kinda right. Burg couldn't run on the Ironton defense and they got a lot of pressure on the QB he took some good shots from the defensive line Friday night. He also was able to exploit our weak secondary and his receivers made some nice catches to beat us. We had a key fumble as we were driving early in the game. We score on that drive the 1st half is a different story, but I still think the game ends the same. We couldn't stop the pass because the Burg receivers were running free in our secondary.

This article made me chuckle he writes them as he wants to see them. Sometimes it's downright lies! Lol It is The Ironton Tribune so the articles are always slanted toward the Tigers! It's good for laugh on Sundays though! Gotta love a small town newpaper!

Some in Ironton can't accept the fact they are nothing more than an average, or slightly above average, SEO team. Unless drastic changes are made then the decline will continue as the population dwindles. No longer will Ironton enjoy the benefits of open enrollment because of Lutz. Surrounding schools will enjoy the influx of "talent" leaving Ironton as rising programs displace the paper Tiger on the gridiron. Ironton will become the new Portsmouth and the Rock Hill's will become the benefactor of the decline. Then again, who knows what'll happen. The foolish article should be an embarrassment to the community but I imagine many support what was written. In any event, I'm certain the article could be put to better use in the community double seated outhouse.
