Any Game Time Changes or Postponements Due To Heat?

Post by Omega »

With the heat being what it is, and given many games are now played on artificial turf, are any SEO schools considering delaying kick offs or postponements? Apparently some games and other athletic events around Cincinnati have been changed due to the "wet bulb" index.

All of these kids practiced in the August heat. They will be okay.

Football has the disadvantage of pads but the advantage of plenty of time to hydrate.

It’s what the kids did the last two days that will be played out tonight — you would hope that everyone is smart enough in 2019 to be regimented in hydration

Have to hydrate. Coaches should of forced water in kids. It’s hot but it’s not a reason to cancel a game. But it’s also on the boys to hydrate during the day and night.

I agree but I already heard the refs talking at Gallia they plan on water breaking every several minutes until temp drops.

FHSSA....requires water break in middle of 2nd and 4th quarters.

Honestly....coaches should be telling their players to drink water and gatorade...1 gal per day....or more. I've been doing that since 1st Gulf War.

We have a 50-50 of turf and grass fields down here in NW Fla....larger schools have mainly turf. A lot of the kids I've talked to prefer natural grass.

Good luck to all players..stay hydrated!!! Officials too!!
