Make that 8 wins in a row now, and their second consecutive sweep, as the Buckeyes took all 3 this weekend from Illinois in Columbus. They run-ruled the Illini on Friday, winning 9-0 in 5 innings, then proceeded to win 9-2 on Saturday, then won a close one on Sunday, 5-4.

Ohio State will wrap up their regular season this coming weekend as they have a 3-game series at Iowa.

In their first game of the Big Ten Tournament, the 4th seeded Buckeyes were trounced by the 5th Badgers, 10-1. Wisconsin scored all they needed in the 1st inning, scoring 4 runs on some small ball play. They then extended their lead to 5-0 in the 2nd inning after a solo blast. Then increased their lead again to 8-0 after just 3 innings.

OSU was able to drive in 1 run in the 4th inning, but that's all that they could muster. The Badgers were able to drive in 2 more runs in the 6th inning for the last runs of the game.

Pitching Line:
Win: Menz (18-7)
Loss: Ray (27-8)

Ohio State will now wait to see if they did enough in the regular season to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Didn't Make it to Bloomington but some Cousins of mine did. They said Osu didn't look good. They said the Whiskey pitching was dominating. I did get to watch the Michigan/Illinois, Whiskey and Minnesota games. Some good ball! Now some are onto the Big Dance.

The Buckeyes did just enough to get into the NCAA Tournament. They will be playing in the Knoxville Regional. Their first opponent will be North Carolina. Teams in the Knoxville regional are: Tennessee, North Carolina, Ohio State, Longwood.

Their first game of the NCAA Regional was a complete pitcher's dual, as both OSU and UNC combined for 5 total hits and 1 run, luckily for the Buckeyes, that 1 run came on their end as they won their first game 1-0. The only run of the game came on a sacrifice bunt off the bat of Ashley Prange that gave Bri Betschel just enough time to cross home plate from third.

Pitching Line:
Win: Ray (18-8) 7 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 8 K's
Loss: Pickett (21-13) 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 K's

Next up, Ohio State will play the regional host, #12 Tennessee on Saturday at noon.

After an opening round regional victory over UNC on Friday, the Buckeyes ran into a buzzsaw on Saturday as they fell to host and #12 Tennessee 12-4. That put the Buckeyes into an elimination game against North Carolina (who beat Longwood in their first elimination game), and the Tar Heels stepped up in a big way to end the Buckeyes season, as OSU lost 5-3 on Saturday evening.

Tennessee went on to win the regional bracket on Sunday.
