Basketball is still a game won by guards! Remington and Marquez dominated the game. Remington with 22 and Marquez with 19. Defensive pressure just wore Jackson out. Created multiple turnovers. Intense defense all night. W@verly never gets tired and Jackson was out of gas! Great game!

Enjoyable game.

This was not a typical Jackson bleh on the road. I’ll ask the Waverly folks....what would your record be if you played like that all season?

Remington with 22 points and he was incredible. He’s like that super fast football player you think you had the angle on...but he gets by you anyways. He played both ends and was the most important player. Marquez about as rock solid as you can be and had 19. Robertson hit a few shots and scored 9. Dunn was big with 10 and played good defense. Wolfe hit a free throw but solid defensively. Waverly didn’t play many more than 6 players that much. #7 man played a decent bit but not as much bench and rotation as I’ve seen of Waverly. Waverly was 12-16 from the line but seemed like 18 of 19...they made theirs.

Jackson 6/14 from the line. Did outrebound 32-27. Missed about 4 layups they’ve made all year and 4/14 from 3. Cooper Donaldson showed his worth with 24 points 10 rb and 5 assists. Wallis had 8 but Remington and Shoemaker made him work. Davis wasn’t 100% physically but he battled hard. He was very tough a lot of times throughout he game. Donaldson and Hammond were active on defense.

I’ll say it again. Brown/Wells/Linkous were the best crew I’ve seen all year. This game was lightning fast and they did very well. Yeah we got fired up on a few calls and they missed a few each way in the 4th but they pretty much canceled out.

Waverly was outstanding tonight.

Good to meet oldschool13...we’ll talk more next time

Waverly lead 50-42 after three (Remington & Dunn with 7 a piece / Donaldson 7)
Waverly Final 65-54 (Remington & Marquez 4 each / Donaldson 8)

WAVERLY SCORING
Cody Remington 22 (two big 3's, 2-2 from the line)
Cobe Marquez 19 (3 first half 3's, 4-4 from the line, all in the 4th)
Ethan Dunn 14 (10 second half, 4-5 from the line for the game)
Trey Robertson 9 (two 3's)
Easton Wolfe 1 (FT in the 4th)
Waverly was 12-16 from the line

JACKSON SCORING
Cooper Donaldson 24 (15 second half)
Treylan Davis 8
Caleb Wallis 8 (all second half, two 3's)
Nevan Yates 4
Caden Donaldson 4
Braxton Hammond 4
Brice Graham 2
Jackson was 6-14 from the line

After an 18 point lead in the 3rd Jackson cut it to 50-42 at the end of the 3rd.

FOURTH QUARTER
Waverly stretched it 52-42 before Jackson cut it 52-45 on a three by Wallis.
With 5:28 remaining Davis hit 1 of 2 from the line to cut to 52-46
With 4:45 remaining Donaldson cut the lead to 52-48 with a bucket.
Dunn responded for the Tigers with 4:38 to play to push it back to 6 at 54-48.
Marquez stretched it to 8 again at 56-48 with 4:09 with 2 FT's.
Waverly missed the front end with 3:34 and Donaldson hit 1 of 2 with 3:25 to play to cut it to 56-49.
With 3:02 to play Robertson hit a 3 to stretch to 10 at 59-49
Donaldson responded with a deep trifecta off the glass with 2:54 to play and a Jackson timeout at 59-52.
Waverly turnover with 2:35 to play, same score.
With 2:02 to play Donaldson 2 for 2 from the line to cut it to 59-54.
With 1:29 to play Dunn 1-2 from the line to go back up 6 at 60-54.
With 1:12 to play Wolfe 1-2 from the line to make it 61-54.
With .42 to play Marquez 2-2 from the line to make it 63-54.
Remington added a late layup to finish it at 65-54
Jackson missed some shots down the stretch after the two FT's from Donaldson with 2:02 to play - possibly from fatigue.

Big win for the Tigers - they did the things they are capable of and it resulted in a big win over a very good Jackson team.

Waverly looked sharp. They played with energy and passion and it made a huge difference. You often see that when a team doesn't feel like they played up to their potential in the previous game. Just an all around solid team effort.

Tigers shot 50% from the field... 58% from three point land and 80 from the line. (radio had them 12-15) Perhaps they were 12-16? Very good either way.

Waverly and Jackson will both be tough outs in the tournament.

That’s the best I’ve seen my Tigers play in a big game. Remington is always a monster on defense, but he was getting to the rim like a man on a mission...as was Marquez. The difference in this game was they finished almost every time. Not many misses in the paint, which I felt was key in this ballgame. I thought our defensive pressure was phenomenal. Wallis had to deal with a platoon of defenders that were all over him, and although he’s a gritty kid, he was obviously exhausted in the latter part of the game. Donaldson is a stud. I was especially impressed with him in the second half as I thought he put the team on his back and willed them back in the game. This game absolutely lived up to the hype. It was great meeting you too Ironman...hopefully we get a chance to talk more at Southeastern.

Great game to watch! Jackson is an excellent team and it took the Tigers best effort to win that ball game. As I stated yesterday, I thought Remington would have a good game offensively as I thought he was due. And he did just that. Marquez has become very reliable each and every night. Hope that continues into tourney time. I think those two seniors will have play that well in the postseason if they want to make a decent run. But it was a solid effort from top to bottom for the Tigers. Jackson will be a tough matchup for anyone come postseason time.

I saw someone comment earlier that this was the best officiated game they had seen all year, you must have not seen much good officiating this year lol. The first half wasn't bad, but the second half became inconsistent. It did not in any way dictate the outcome tho.

It was me and I’m sticking to it. A few missed calls each way and a couple were really bad...but it didn’t affect anything. That game had some race horses going at it. I’ve seen good officiating in our games the majority of the year. Those 3 did the overall best job I have seen all year.

Ironman92... I will take this one.

Jackson had won 3 in a row before last night’s road loss.

It wasn’t like going on the road to Miami Trace but it’s a decently tough place to get a win.

Waverly played the way they are capable so give them credit, dont make it sound like Jackson is regressing. Jackson is a down right good basketball team.
