I think he did and if I remember right he played with 2 different QBs who hit 2,000 in Gullion and Greenhaw. I think both did, won't swear to that one. I just remember Creed for that incredible display he put on in the playoffs down at Spartan Stadium against the Trojans. 20+ catches
No, Creed never had 1,000 (Easton Wolfe this year was the first to ever crack 1,000 yards at Waverly), but he was certainly one of the most talented to play the position here. He had a one-handed catch on a slant at Wheelersburg in the rain that was one of the more memorable catches I've seen live in a football game.
Yes, I was fortunate enough to be able to watch that game and I know exactly what catch you are talking about. For anyone reading we're talking about a kid who reached up over his head on the run didn't break stride, brought it down one handed and took it to the house if memory serves. At the time Creed played I guess he had to many others around him getting yards to break that 1,000 yard mark.

Did Waverly beat Burg those years? I know Jackson got them, but was thinking they may have beaten Burg.

Yes, there were a few years in the early 2000s where Waverly beat Burg a handful of times, had to look up Eitel to verify that one. This particular game Waverly beat Burg 50-21 at Burg.

Remember that catch quite well, a thing of beauty. Wolfe had a few amazing catches this year...

I thought so. They had skill and size. Good fullback, Montavin at RB, snd a great big lineman. Toombs or Coombs....Great team. Ed Bolin was the coach.....right?

That's correct and if memory serves I believe he retired from coaching after that season. Not to mention they had a really nice quarterback with the last name Gullion that I'm sure everyone will recognize, that was the year him and Creed came over.

Yes, all of your recollections are correct. It was a really nice team with some talented players. Creed went on to walk on at Toledo (ended up in the military), Copeland went to Morehead, Gullion went on to play DII I believe (can't think of the school), Montavon may have went somewhere initially as well. Andrew Bodager was also a really nice player on that team.

What? Lol
LOL yeah Saltzman as a junior had 1169 receiving yards and 16 TD catches as a junior before he moved to rb as a senior
I wasn't denying it. I was just confused because you just wrote "Athens bulldog had 1000 receiving yards" without a name lol Is that the same Saltzman to go on and play D1?
Yes
