Have seen both teams play and I will have to go with ND. If Northwest doesnt fix their punt game it could be a factor. I go with ND because I like the Wing T even if it's out of the darn Pistol. ND seems to have a little bit more going on with their offense. Both teams appear to have very young kids.playing. Northwest QB has a nice arm and there are a couple kids that can catch the ball. The QB throws a nice stop route but no time to throw deep routes because of the offensive line play. Against the Oaks they were in the Spread, talked to some Oaks coaches they said before that they were in the Double Wing under center so who knows what ND will see.

I do give it to ND on playing tough non conference teams instead of playing teams that you can beat 84-0 or a long those lines. In the next two years ( depends on if Haney stays ) should be good for ND, getting Oak Hill and Eastern both out will free up a chance for the Titans to return to the glory days in the SOC!
Where is Eastern going?

NW comes out and picks up their first win of the season Friday night at Roy Rogers Field.

I truly believe that NW will see improvement in the next few years on the football field. How much? Nobody knows but improvement will be made.

Hate to see a team go winless. Northwest gets their first win at home tonight.

NW wins out the final three games of the season against those three young, banged up D-7 schools.

Glad to see the Mohawks get the win tonight. It's been a rough year so far this season. The freshman rb went for over 230 yards tonight.

Dont see why people feel the need to crack on ND , or the SOC1 in general .. are they small ? yep , are they less talented than a Burg or Waverly or just about any SOC2 school ? yep . but those young men sacrifice their bodies and their time to play the sport they love . So grow up adults and stop the disrespect of small schools still trying to keep a great sport relevant in their communities . And congrats to NW .

I just hate seeing 14-15 year old going out there against 18-19 year old men and getting thumped every play. It's tough to watch. Congrats to NW and hopefully ND can finish out the year to 3-7 and get some momentum for next year. How is the kid from ND that got hurt?

Congratulations to Northwest for the win. That and kudos to both programs for perseverance in the face of adversity.

portsmouth_98 wrote: Wed Oct 03, 2018 5:57 pm Northwest is in a bad spot. It's a huge district, almost all rural and bordered by two much better football programs who have siphoned off some decent talent the last 10-15 years. Northwest never won an SOC 2 title, not even sure they have finished 2nd but the last 10-15 years have been really brutal. Every problem has a solution but I have no clue what it would take to turn that program around, and whenever it does happen it will likely be a 10-15 year process, that ship won't get righted overnight.
The only way it will turn around is if open enrollment is eliminated.
