Not to slight T&F and soccer but how many people attend these events? And I wonder how much of the total sports revenue is generated by football. Just saying.......
The middle school has a nice facility - although I'm not sure what effect the new Green Elementary has had on it. I know the old discus pit was down in that foot print.

But if you consolidate all T&F activities back into one venue you have scheduling and number issues between MS and HS programs. Remember - T&F is a numbers sport and trying to cram FOUR (MS boys and girls, HS boys and girls) huge teams into one venue causes a lot of problems.

Finally, one of the big advantages of the new HS is having virtually every Varsity venue onsite - I mean Cross Country is the "trip" having to go over to the golf course! Busing T&F athletes over to the middle school for practice everyday would be added cost as well (they used to bus out to the MS from the hilltop).

As to your revenue question, at this point, your argument is only relevant if a change at the Stadium would result in added revenue. The venue is bought and paid for. Football DEFINITELY is the biggest money maker by a distance. But unless you're going to INCREASE revenue by making a change, you're going to spend a lot of money without a corresponding revenue increase. Not sure that is helpful.

FWIW - I advocated a bleacher system that could sit over the track during football season but could roll behind the track for the winter and fall (Massillon has a system like this, although I think the front of their stands are just removed). I do believe the district looked into it, but decided it is cost prohibitive.

I like that they are moving north to play teams instead of south. A league invite is being cultivated.

I ask this question to the people that would know at least once a week and we literally have nothing coming. It would be at least another year before we get a look unless something unexpected happens.

I agree with KD.

Don't expect anything on the new league front is eminent. I would imagine at least two football seasons as an independent barring a surprising turn.

Logan it's basically Mid State League unless the ECOL dies. That would leave Marietta, Zanesville, Logan, and Warren with no league.

Athens D3
Logan D2
Warren D3
Marietta D3
Parkersburg D1
Parkersburg South D2

A part of me wonders if Dover and New Philly leave the ECOL, do Logan and Warren get an invite to try to replace them, assuming Logan at the time doesn't have any offers from the MSL or any other leagues. Even if Warren only accepted, that's still a decent 7 team league and I'm sure football can be scheduled to where teams would only have to visit Washington County once a year.

Dover and New Philadelphia will probably join a league with Louisville. Probably with schools like Wooster

Another possibility is to have a league of Athens, Logan, Marietta, Warren, and Zanesville if the ECOL dies, and someone can convince Athens to leave the TVC (probably will never happen). Sending an invite to either or both of the Parkersburg schools wouldn't hurt, but considering that they desire to play AAA schools based on WV classifications and Logan would be the only AAA school on their conference schedule, I doubt they would accept, but they'd probably still play Marietta and Warren for a decent gate and short trips.

That league would have 4 AAA teams. Ive always thought that league should happen. Be a great all sports league but yeah I don't think Parkersburg schools would want to be in a league of small schools . Zanesville will likely go to a league around Columbus

We could even have Athens vs Parkersburg Hockey
