1. Athens - Biggest school can reload faster. Good skill players and had a ton of depth in JV and Freshman
2. Nelsonville York - Best program in the TVC. History and high expectations will keep them toward the top.
3. Meigs - Very good skill players and returning deep senior class. will move them up the list from last year.
4. Vinton County - Very good coaching staff and senior class. Could compete for a top three spot.
5. River Valley - will be hug on the line. Will compete for top three spot.
6. Wellston - good skill players and size.
7. Alexander -Going to be tough to replace Marks and Harris. Unfortunately, will stay on the bottom.

Go Alex and Go TVC!

New enrollment figures show vinton as the biggest school, so not sure about your philosophy on athens being able to reload faster. :)

VC reign as biggest school lasted about 3 days. :D
OHSAA screwed up most of the numbers first time around. They scraped those numbers and posted corrected version.

VC at 253 now.

If I am reading these numbers right, RV is at 198 boys. Last year we were D5. 198 would be D4 this fall correct?

How much does RV bring back?
-

Raider6309.....

RV lost 14 seniors from last year's team, including standout WR/DB Tre Craycraft, DE/TE Jacob Dovenbarger, and LB/FB Dylan Brown and Jaykob Mabe.

Despite those losses, RV does bring back plenty of standout players from Varsity last year, and an outstanding class of Freshman that will be Sophomores this year, and had plenty of Varisty experience last year.

Back in 2017....
SR QB Patrick Brown....1794 passing yds (school record), and 18 TD passes (school record)
JR RB/LB Jacob Campbell....606 rushing yds, and also was all-TVC, all-District, and all-State LB
SO RB Cole Young....one of the outstanding Freshman last season, limited time in games, but flashed signs of ability from the running game side. With Campbell an outstanding LB, Young may wind up the main RB
JR WR Layne Fitch....with Craycraft gone, Fitch is leading returning receiver, and also probably the speed factor for RV on offense
SR WR Jarret McCarley....McCarley will be the other WR opposite Fitch, has outstanding hands/catch ability
SR DB/WR Dustin Barber....finished last season with a bang, with 3 INT and a INT return TD against Waverly in Week 10. Shut down Corner, may be best DB in TVC this coming season.
JR OL/DL Ty Van Sickle....probably the best lineman returning, one of the strongest players in RV history, should lead a big OL
SR OL/DL Ben Arrowood....another of the big OL for RV, also should be on that DL as well
SO K Colton Gilmore....one of the biggest stories of RVs 2016 season, the Freshman was outstanding on kickoffs, including several touchbacks in the end zone, also set a school record for longest FG in school history as a Freshman

It is a little disingenuous to pretend that Athens is not the biggest school. Their school district has a distinct advantage of having the biggest employer in the area with a great deal of families that will move into the area compared to the other schools in the TVC. I am not going to be one of those TVC fans that say Athens should not be in the conference because of their size advantage. However, to compare Athens size (by count) to Vinton County is a little short sighted to say the least.

I stand by my comment that Athens will consistently be able to reload faster than other TVC schools because they will have better numbers year in and year out.

Go TVC.

I would say Nelsonville-York (the smallest TVC-OHIO school can reload as fast if not faster than Athens.
Everyone got their shot at NY, Buckeye football is back! Coach Rusty Richards and Thee Nelsonville-York Buckeyes will win the league the next few years.

I honestly don't see this happening, I think they will beat Alex, Wellston and maybe VC.
