Looks good. I think some of the teams in the teens are a bit high but time will tell.

When is the last time you had Jackson in the top 30?...probably haven't been since the huddle but I think you only did the elite 8 teams

... you're probably right on that I92 ... they will continue to move up with their favorable 1st half of the season schedule ...

Peebles is actually 1-1 with a 13 point win against Ripley and a 3 point loss at Lynchburg.

Would like to see the Napkin stats on the Eastern Pike game on Friday.

Any who, I thought most of the rankings were pretty good. Some teams at the top are a little higher then I would have expected. I also think Peebles should be a little higher since their one loss came to Lynchburg Clay.

Good stuff PFLOYD.

Great list! Fairland is 2-0 with wins over Nicholas county WV, and AAA powerhouse Huntington High.

Look for Green to give Minford a competitive game this week and move up the list a bit. The Bobcats are capable of playing with a lot of teams on their schedule and could play spoiler in the SOC 1 at some point this season. They will not be on the end table for long.

EPN ... I was impressed by the Eastern Pike TEAM ... very solid ALL AROUND TEAM ... I could even see the improvement being into the 2nd season under Coach Barrick ... fundamentally sound at both ends , crisp passing, real picks , patience on the offensive end, they crash the boards, the kids under Coach Barrick KNOW how to play the game - pressure didn't bother EHS at all ONLY 10 turnovers on the game ... 8 deep ... Ethan Leist held Gilliland for Portsmouth scoreless through 2 qtrs the only points the Clay big man had was when Leist took a breather ... Michael Miller was a beast in the paint - it was Miller Time in the 3rd quarter as the big man controlled the boards and put up 10 points on 5 straight possessions - good ball player ... I've always been a fan of Coach Barrick - his Eagles are the real deal ...

... Portsmouth Clay was shorthanded with Hinze sidelined ... even with Hinze I'm not sure they have the horses that Eastern can put on the floor and definitely not the depth ... Wins like Western got on East's home court are MAJOR bonuses in the league chase ...

... I've had the opportunity to see Eastern Pike, Portsmouth Clay and Portsmouth East - I still need to put eyes on Western Pike ... that would give me a good handle on the SOC1 battle ... Western Pike beat Portsmouth East AT East THAT in itself tells me a lot about the WHS ...

... on a side note - Eastern Pike has one of the best young shooters/players I have seen this season on the JV squad ! - Hunter Cochenour is now outstanding ! and will keep getting better and better ... good size/ great patience at both ends, maturity on the court AND only a 14 year old ... Hunter has great genes as his dad was stroked 1801 points in his own 3 year hoops career for the Eagles ... Cochenour the younger will be a special player for EHS in the years to come - write it down !!!

Coal Grove is 2-1 on the season, St. Joseph (1-2) ... I will need to read the Ironton Tribune religiously to keep up with some of the scores as they aren't being reported to the big city papers ie. Dispatch or the Cleveland Plain Dealer ...

Thanks for your write up on Eastern Pike -Clay, as usual I believe u are spot on , hope u enjoyed the game, I always look forward to your run downs on games , especially when it is my Eagles.
Yes, Hunter Cochenour is gonna b a special player for the eagles, extremely excited to watch him play over these next 4 years, doubt it will b long before u see him on the varsity level.

... EPN ... after seeing Hunter Cochenour play on Friday night - I ran into Hunter and his Dad at PHS when I walked in the door to see Portsmouth vs Waterford ... I shook his hand and told him I enjoyed seeing him play Friday night, told him to keep working hard ! and I looked forward to watching him in the next 3 years ... his Dad said that the docs tell him that Hunter will be around 6-5 when he is done growing, he's as tall as his Dad now ...

... I would have posted a "true" Pfloyd game recap BUT I didn't have internet access at my mom's house in New Boston LOL ... same goes for PHS vs Waterford and the Portsmouth East vs Minford game ... by the time I got home yesterday I had to get ready for my "day job" - so the only computer "stuff" I could get done was the Elite 8 ...
