I would think they should play jackson before they worry about the burg. No idea why Athens and jackson don't play every year.
Neither one of them will schedule the other till one of them thinks they can win then the other won't schedule the game.

It will always be a "problem" to get their open dates to "line up". :? :?

Jackson already plays one TVC team in week 1
They do not need to play 2, meigs series was a flop.

There is just so much more opportunities for teams up north to play better teams due to population centers etc etc. Burg in last 10 or so years has played Martins ferry, St Clairsville, Johnson Central Ky, Cabell midland wv, Clev VASJ, Newark Catholic, Bishop Ready, NCH. Numerous playoff games vs Liberty Union, Fredrickstown, ACC, Ridgewood, Hartley, Coldwater. List goes on. We are in a conference and that is not gonna change. I thought the NCH series should have continued. Good athletes and they will get better, thus us better for it and not a bad drive. We have a great coach and staff and kids that have bought into the system. I don't think they are upset that they only play 13 or 14 weeks every year. Some schools would kill for that. Would love to see some action from Belfry Ky. Try some larger TVC schools? As for playing one huge opponent a year, that sounds fine to me. Should be first game of the season so you get over the bumps and bruises early on. THat means giving up Ironton or moving them. Not sure I like that. They have the athletes, just some execution problems.
If Wheelersburg wants to go to Canton/Massillon, there is plenty wrong with the schedule.

I would like to see 1 ohio D 4-5-6 powerhouse
And 1 wv or Ky school like cabel midland or Johnson central.
That would probably do it

Canton Central Catholic Crusaders: 2016 DV State Champions. Coldwater goes down 16-13 in a thriller of a game.

I talked to one of my friends within the school and they told me we still have a open date. The only spot filled was wk 5 which was nch the last two seasons. Personally I would like to see a CCC or Akron Hoban or someone like that on the schedule. I also like to see us pick up Wayne, Paul Blazer or Cabell Midland. Maybe even Huntington or even pick back up Johnson Central

Gahanna Lincoln has about 2,400 students under one roof. Love to see the Burg play the Lions. I can walk to the stadium from my house but have never seen them play in-person. I prefer to go to Hartley games although I don't have any kids there anymore. I would walk down to the stadium to see the Pirates play the Lions.

My youngest daughter is a very good soccer player for Gahanna that finished 18-1-2 this season. You wouldn't want to play Gahanna in girls soccer although Wheelersburg has a fine girls soccer program.

The Burg would be way too much for Harvest Prep.
