Seems weird to me you beat a team 9-0 and your pitcher throws a no no and you turn around and run her out there again for game two . I think Newland is fantastic but what is to be gained by the team by throwing her against a team that's clearly outmatched ? If the answer is " we don't have a second pitcher" then they better pray the # 1 doesn't get sick or injured .

Though it is not uncommon for a HS Coach to ride a top pitcher every game, this one has been prone to injury (last year) and I wouldn't risk it. Especially since there is only a verbal agreement with Akron right now. Newland is definitely one of the top, if not the top pitcher in SWO right now. But a social media post stated a comment something like "Keep writing the record books". That's a good indication of the coach's agenda here. It's all about the record book.
