After their 10-2 win over Eastern tonight, the Waterford baseball team assured itself of an outright TVC-Hocking championship - and is just one win away from going undefeated. They play 2nd place Southern on Monday. If the Wildcats are able to seal the victory, the boys will accomplish something that hasn't been done in the Hocking since expansion - and that's go wire-to-wire without a single league loss all year. They went (8-0) in football, (16-0) in basketball and are sitting at (15-0) in baseball. The best year thus far was the 2014/2015 Trimble Tomcats, who went (38-2) and were undefeated until spring when they dropped two games to state champion Wahama. The White Falcons went undefeated in football and baseball in 2010/2011, but finished 2nd in the Hocking during basketball season with an (11-5) mark. The best girls year was accomplished by Eastern, which went an astounding (45-3) in 2012/2013, including winning a state championship in girls basketball.
