Marietta had three 2-run innings. The first two each consisted of RBI triples followed by the triplers(Dawson and Neville) scoring on pitches that got away from the catcher. Both Hills and Deskins had perfect bunts for singles, two of which would have been sacrifices also. Kail Hill also had what amounted to an unofficial sacrifice in getting a run home from 3rd with less than 2 out on a grounder.

Brandon Schamp pitched 6.2 innings scoreless, but couldn't quite finish the shut-out. He only had much trouble in two innings. When it was still a scoreless game, and error and a solid single to RCF put runners at 1st and 3rd with less than one out, but a pick-off for the 2nd out took the air out of that threat. In the 7th he allowed the bases to get loaded on an error, walk, and a bloop single, then gave up a solid single to left for a run, then Duckworth came in and gave up another solid single to left for the 2nd unearned run before getting the last out.

How is the progress today in Waterford? What time does it look like the 3rd game will start?

Fort Frye Defeated Belpre, not sure of the score, 3rd game was to start at 4

And Fort Frye 4, Waterford 1 in the last game at Waterford. Waterford took a 1-0 lead in the 1st, FF hit a 2 run HR in the 2nd and put 2 more on the board in the 6th. In the 7th, Waterford loaded the bases with 2 out, and I believe it was Tyler Bradford who got the complete game by getting the clean-up batter for the final out.

Fort Frye to play at Marietta for the county championship Monday.

Waterford looked a little rusty, basketball players only had 3 practices before Saturday

Fort Frye's Tyler Bradford ( a leftie ), had sixteen strikeouts in the seven inning game. Quite impressive .

Fort Frye takes an early 1-0 lead, but Marietta comes back with three 3-run innings to win the tourney championship game 9-2.

Belpre takes 5th place with 6-5 win over Frontier.
