Valley graduate Patrick Riehl drafted by the Reds

Post by crab_apple4 »

Former Valley High School Pitcher, Patrick Riehl was drafted in the 26th round by the Cincinnati Reds yesterday. Patrick has spent the last 4 years at Mars Hill University in North Carolina and battled back from arm surgery to get the opportunity of a lifetime. He was reporting the Reds facility in Arizona today. Patrick is a great young man that has worked extremely hard to get to this position. I know the Lucasville community is very proud of him and we're all wishing him the best in his pursuit of a professional career.

Patrick picked up the win in relief in his pro debut. Billings opened tonight and Riehl threw 1.1 innings allowing 0 hits and striking out 1. Not a bad way to get it started.
