Baseballking, don't count your chickens before they are hatched. Burg still has 2 games left with Minford before you crown them champs. Daniels or J. Alley are two candidates for player of the year also.

Burg 8-5 over Minford. Falcons jumped out early 5-2 but couldn't hang on. Pirates earn at least a share of 12th straight SOC championship. One more conference win and its another outright title.

Solid performance.

12 straight is indicator of program strengths: coaching; fundamentals; buy-in and execution (also know as "doing what we do").

Let's see if we can put together another run to Huntington Park.

No. They've won 13 straight.
Have a tough schedule next week.
Monday: Chillicothe High at VA
Tuesday: Home against Coal Grove
Wednesday: Home against Green
Thursday: at Western
Saturday: Hosting Fath. Patterson Wood Bat Tourn. Rock Hill, North Adams, and can't remember the 4th team

ND outhit Chilli 7-4, but costly base running mistakes kept ND from scoring. Great ball game!!

Reading some of the scores and records of the SOC teams D1 and D2 this year and the last few years, it saddens me that baseball isn't the sport it used to be around this area. Yes, there are still the very gifted and committed ones out there; however, I rarely see kids outside working on their game no matter what sport. I grow up in a time that's all we did 24/7 rain, sun, hail ,snow, or ice. Now schools can't get enough kids to make up a team. I remember the days when my school had 50 kids try out for baseball; now they hardly ever cut anyone. Not taking anything away from Mike Estep and the Pirates, they are what some programs were like back then minuses the championships of course.

Sad indeed, ringo82. The rise of other sports, specialized focus in only one sport by athletes, and just general disinterest in the game among youth is slowly pushing high school baseball to oblivion. Even in South Carolina, where ten years ago the season used to start February 1st and teams would play 40 plus regular season games, high school baseball competition has been cut back. One encouraging note, AAU travel teams and Legion ball seem to flourish in the South.
