Scrimmages

Post by Fonzie »

We have been blessed with an amazing few days of spring like weather, were there any teams able to get out and scrimmage?

Gallia Academy scrimmaged Southern last Tuesday. Southern did not throw their older pitchers. Blue Devils were in control of this one, not sure on actual score.

Just heard that Burg is hosting Jackson this evening in one of their final tune-ups prior to opening the season.

Should be a good match-up from what I am being told.

Obviously didn't hit that good either
Imo
Sexton, leach , largent , hall are the best rotation in southern Ohio

Jackson scored two runs in 9 innings? If so, 'Burg must have thrown (is that "pitched" or fielding?) fairly well.

Whitlach, Mattox, Sheets, Musser, Bartrum best rotation in Southern Ohio

Extremely well played baseball for the third week in March.

Both teams fundamentally solid, Jackson had a couple hits through the 8 innings, then in top of 9th a Jackson senior went big fly against one of Burg's freshman pitchers with a man on base to go up 2-0 in top of 9th.

Jackson put ball in play as did Burg.

Impressed with the Jackson pitching, I know Sexton is going to Marshall, what about the second pitcher is he playing anywhere? Third pitcher was equally solid as was Hall who finished the last few innings.

Two very good programs.

Hall doesn't throw that fast. I disagree that Jackson has the best rotation .

Wheelersburg didn't throw some of the better pitchers.
