Yes that is correct, they have always played a extremely challenging schedule and this year was going to be different because of the amount of girls that plays club. The coach gave the AD the a list of the teams they wanted to play this year an the AD dropped the ball on it.

This isn't always true tho... some ADs just schedule some teams without much input or any input from the coaches. Seen it many times.

Yes this might not always be true but it is for ZT this year.

Just looking at strength of schedule on http://www.maherrankings.com/girls-mahe ... ngs-82519/ (really because this is the only place that attempts to do that). Comparing the ZT schedule ranking to the D3 teams they could face in the tournament, really shows that they are right in line. Granted, a lot of this is based on last year's results, but its a decent estimate. The numbers below are based on the 1,100 team in OH/KY/IN.

Yes last year they lost 8 seniors ( i think ) 6 played travel soccer. ZT could have went farther in the tournament but when you have 1 senior put forth effort and the others saying they don't even want to be there and not even try to win the game, you cant go very far. ZT for the last 3 years has beaten North Adams, which they Beat ZT in the tournament last year by 1. ZT has beaten Eastern Brown ( Haynna Addy had 4 goals against Eastern Brown the last time ZT played them ) after that they didn't want to play ZT anymore.

The Maher rankings get more accurate as the season progresses, but it is pretty good.

I didn't realize ZT had that many girls who played club soccer. Wheelersburg hasn't had 6 girls play travel soccer in the 5 years the program has existed.

Wheelerburg had 5 girls that played travel the last 3 years.

All 6 of those didn't play travel at the same time. All 6 of those senior had played travel with in the 2-3 years together

Fu wont get any help from anyone in the league outside of BC. Which is normal, however the MSL seems very much down this year. I do enjoy the Maher rankings as well and love how they allow you to search. I usually do a Southeast and D2 search. I think about mid year the rankings really come into play. Again tho you really need coaches to use ossca since maher uses it for its rankings.

You'd think I worked for ossca as much as I push it, but its really an awesome tool for coaches. Both in season and even when going to district seeding.

the score is correct, i know a parent on their team. I lost alot of respect when Chillicothe left the OCC because they kept getting the butt handed to them.

I'm more interested in, is Marietta THAT good??

Certainly got my attention. They beat dover 2-1, but I know nothing at all about dover this year or historically.

Maher rankings are done by using teams scores, records, and divisions to form a rankings for ohio boys and girls soccer. So the number he posted by each team is their strength of schedule rank by state

Itll change weekly as teams recorda change, obviously.

No....the lower the number, the harder the schedule.

...the Maher Rankings show that this is a reasonable schedule for ZT and I tend to agree. Check out some of the other teams around the area and do the comparison.

Yes, Fairfield Union has a really good D2 program. But as far as playing North Adams, Lynchburg Clay and others that have been named, these are D3 schools that ZT would have to face in the district - so why would they want to drop them from the schedule? Alexander is a D3 school clearly down from a year ago and outside of Marietta and Burg, who else is anything near a powerhouse on the schedule?
