I see discussions about other leagues, so I decided why not start one on the TSL.
Teams:
Fort Frye
Marietta
Warren
Point Pleasant
I'm gonna give my take on each team. Feel free to add your thoughts.
First up is the Lady Cadets of Fort Frye. They are last years TSL champs and are looking to repeat this year. The Cadets lost 3 senior starters from last years team. I hear the numbers are down this year and the Cadets only have 9 girls this year. 1 senior, 1 Junior, 5 sophmores, and 2 freshman make up the Cadet team. With only 3 girls having varsity experience, the Cadets will look tord there youth to step up and fill the voids. Fort Fryes schedule is tough which is good for the post season. However the girls are going to have to play some excellent basketball in order to repeat as league champs.
The Marietta Tigers finished as runner ups last year in the TSL. They are returning most of the Starters from last year. They have one of, if not, the best player in the TSL. I hear they also got a girl that transferred in from Warren that was a starter last year for the lady warriors. They also have a lot of depth off the bench. With this being said, they are probably the favorites to win the TSL.
The Warren Warriors had a great season last year and with no doubt be a tough matchup for both the cadets and the tigers. Not only did they lose a starter that transferred to Marietta, but I hear one of their best players are injured, Aubrey Pepper. Not sure how long Pepper will be out but they will miss her presence and scoring on the floor. But no matter who's on the floor the warriors will bring it every night and will fight with everything they have.
Point Pleasant finished without a win in the TSL last year. Don't know much about the team. I do know they struggled with all three of the other TSL teams. Hopefully with a year under their belt and maybe some young talent this team can come out this year and maybe pull off and upset somewhere down the line.
Like I said I'm not an expert on any of these teams. Just a fan and follow these teams more than others. Love to hear others thoughts.

I'll agree that Marietta is probably the favorite but I wouldn't count out FF. I believe the Pepper girl tore her acl and is out for the season if I heard correctly. I'm honestly not sure what to expect out of Warren this year or who the key contributors are going to be.

Fort Frye had a really talented freshman class last year. Disappointing to hear a lot of them are not playing this year.

I thought I saw where over half of their team is from that Freshman class. 5 of the 9 are sophomores I think. Also, Warren may struggle early but they will be better toward the end of the year. Are the league games all after the first of the year? I think that is what they did last year. If so, Warren could pull an upset that determines the championship. Otherwise it will come down to the two games between Marietta and Fort Frye.

I know FF plays Marietta the 2nd game of the season, December 2nd. They won't play Warren for the first time until January 6th. Not sure when Warren and Marietta play. Not sure if it's true, but I'm hearing the Pepper girl should be back after the first of the year.

Marietta off to an impressive start.
Fort Frye I think has some potential and will get better as the year goes one.
Warren will be better when they get healthy.
Point looks to be at the bottom again.

Warren had a nice win over John Glenn over the weekend. I would be lying if I said I was expecting that.

Record may have been unblemished but UL is not that good. Good win for FF but nothing that will push the needle. FF has maybe 4 games that they will not be favored in so they should win 18 games fairly easily. Marietta is the same way, they may have 2 games that they wouldn't be favored in so they should easily win 20 games. Might be a Washington county thing because Waterford probably has the easiest of them all. They might have one game in which they wont be favored. Nice for the records but we will have to wait to see if they are ready come tournament time. With that being said, i still like FF to come out of the East and I am less sure about the SE teams every week so FF definitely has a reasonable path to the final four. The other two county teams will have much more difficult paths.

Fort Frye, Marietta, and Waterford all have a decent shot at winning the district. Waterford could very well be back in the state tournament again.

The East is bad and FF will running clock everyone through the district. Waterford will too. I don't think Marietta does though. I have to say Unioto wins that district semi final and then beats whoever comes out of the east (once again, weak in DIII) to advance to the regional. If Marietta gets by Unioto, then yes I think they would beat any of the East teams.

No more TSL. After next fall season, the TSL will be no more. Heard point was leaving and can't have a league with 3 teams. Hope all 3 teams left can find a league to get into.

With Fort grad Brad Silvus getting the job as Super at Vinton County. I’m hearing they would get voted in if they had a re vote.

Well they lost a vote by 1 to get in the TVC a few years back with Vinton , River Valley , South Gallia as no votes.
Vinton would be a yes now and South Gailla left the league.

Nothing to do with expansion but looks like Marietta could struggle this season with the loss of VanderWal and now Coach McClain.

I saw them play at MC shootout this past weekend. Saturday they were missing the chidester girl and took some games on the chin (FF beat them 50-15). Sunday they looked better with Chidester. They did get a transfer guard from south ( I believe she's a junior). She's good and will help them tremendously. Not sure if she'll have to sit out any or not. I think they definitely finish over 500 this season. I have no idea who the coach is gonna be, so that could have some bearing on the season.

I haven't seen them yet this summer, but was Warren at the shootout? I know they lost some girls from last year but having Pepper back should definitely help.
