2019 SCOH50 AREA P5 RANKINGS

Post by SCOH50 »

KICKING OFF 2019 WITH POWER 5 RANKING BY DIVISION, IMO NOT REALISTIC TO COMBINE THESE DIVISIONS.

D4
PORTSMOUTH ND 9-0 (CONTINUES TO WIN HANDEDLY, BIG WIN OVER EASTERN MEIGS BY 23, HAS SEVERAL TOUGH GAMES IN 2ND HALF OF SEASON)
WATERFORD 6-1 (YOUNG TEAM THAT IS WELL COACHED, WHY THEY KEEP WINNING)
PEEBLES 8-3 (TWO LOSSES TO 2 OF THE TOP D3 TEAMS, OTHER TO ANOTHER GOOD D3 TEAM, CAN SCORE THE BALL)
EASTERN MEIGS 5-3 (THREE LOSSES TO THE TOP 3 TEAMS ON THIS LIST)
BELPRE 9-2 (LIKE TO SEE QUALITY WIN)
CONTENDERS: PORTSMOUTH CLAY 8-2, SYMMES VALLEY 7-3, PAINT VALLEY 6-5

D3
LYNCHBURG CLAY 9-0 (WINNING BIG, HC LEWIS HAS THEM PLAYING WELL TOGETHER AND THEY HAVE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE DISTRICT)
ALEXANDER 10-1 (PLAYING REALLY WELL, BLEND OF YOUTH AND EXPERIENCE COMING TOGETHER HAS TO PLAY VC AGAIN, COULD SEE AN UPSET)
EASTERN BROWN 11-2 (TOUGH EARLY SKEDL, LOSSES TO UNDEFEATED WAYNESVILLE & D2 MIAMI TRACE. TOUGH DEF TEAM GIVING UP 34PPG)
MINFORD 9-1 (SOLID WINS OVER OAK HILL AND WATERFORD, PLAYING WELL RIGHT NOW, TOUGH GAME JAN 3)
WHEELERSBURG 8-2 (QUALITY WINS OVER SPRING VALLEY WV AND MINFORD, BIG GAME ON JAN 3)
CONTENDERS: OAK HILL 9-1, COAL GROVE 7-2, HUNTINGTON ROSS 8-3

D2
VINTON COUNTY 10-0 (MAN DOWN AND STILL KEEPS WINNING GAMES, PROBABLY ONE OF BEST PRIMETER SHOOTING TEAMS)
UNIOTO 8-1 (LOSS TO VC, THEY ARE PLAYING REALLY WELL)
SHERIDAN 7-1 (LONE LOSS TO CONFERENCE FOE TRIVALLEY, A SOLID TEAM THAT CAN BEAT ANYONE)
GREENFIELD MCCLAIN 8-2 (HC HAINES HAS HIS TEAM HARD AND DEFENSIVELY GIVING UP 34 A GAME)
MEIGS 9-4 (TOUGH LOSSES TO VC AND ALEXANDER AND 2 TOUGH NON CONFERENCE GAMES, THEY ARE ALSO PLAYING WELL)
CONTENDERS: CIRCLEVILLE 8-3, MIAMI TRACE 6-3, WASHINGTON CH 7-4

I believe Sheridan is 7-2, also with a loss of league foe Tri Valley.

Both Burg and Oak Hill have 1 conference loss each, so I wouldn't call it being in the driver's seat. The good thing is that Burg lost AT Oak Hill, so they have a chance to redeem themselves at home.

The reason I say that is Oak Hill has lost Minford, and Oak Hill beat Burg by 1 or 2 the last game with Darnell shooting 1-14 don't see that happening again. IMO Burg controls it chances to win SOC 2 more than the othe two, Oak Hill has to beat Minford and Burg to get a tie.

Actually that is incorrect. Burg and Oak Hill both have 1 conference loss. So if Oak Hill beats Burg and Minford there would be no tie. If Oak Hill beats Burg and loses to Minford then there would be a 3 way tie again. If Burg beats Oak Hill then that basically clinches SOC for them bc they will have already played Minford and Oak Hill twice and I don’t see any other SOC 2 team upsetting them.

You are right that is definitely incorrect if oak hill happens to beat burg and minford, burg would be at 2 league losses and minford at 3 so I’m not sure who oak hill would tie with 1 loss lol it’s going to be a battle either way and even though oak hill won first game with burg they didn’t oak hills best game that night as well as oak hill only had 1 girl in double figures that night and I don’t see that happening again either

Oak Hill has to win 2 Games to be outright champion, Burg can lose to Oak Hill and still have a chance to tie, Oak Hill has to beat Minford, to win it outright, so we will see, gotta Win the games in the end.
