Jackson vs Huntington St Joe

Post by Ironman92 »

Jackson has really upped their schedule and it culminates tomorrow squaring off against the 5X West Virginia State Champions.

Jackson is 12-1 with excellent a wins over Fairland, Westfall, Greenfield, Minford, Fairfield Union, Warren, Vinton Co and Logan....

Huntington St Joe had 2 first team all-state and 2 3rd team all-state players last season and all are back including one who is signed to play at Notre Dame.

Jackson will have to play their very best game.

They beat Fort Frye in a close one last yr. The ND girl is Micah Johnson I think and she's very good. St Joe just beat Africentric to give them loss 1 on the season.

A couple of the most athletic girls that Jackson will face this year. St. joe doesn't always play team ball though which could help Jackson.

Jackson needs a big game out of Ridout and Jenkins tonight. The entire team will have to hit shots and play well, but if these 2 do not have good games, it will be an ugly turnout. St. Joe will press the ball. Jackson needs to take them out of their element and get them frustrated. And we can NOT afford foul trouble.

WOW. I would think you would need a big game out of all the players........ I would say shut down the 3 ball would work???

Some background on HSJ...

Obviously, the go-to kid is Mychal Johnson. Signed with Notre Dame and has been murdering teams this year. She has been exceptional.

Their second scoring option is Griffin Dempsey. Griffin is signed with Charlotte. She is a deadly outside threat. I have personally seen her pour in 7+ 3s on multiple occasions.

After that, Mychelle Johnson (multiple D1 offers) is a sophomore defensive stud. Ive watched her lock down many talented kids. She can score when she wants to and needs to. Asia Petitte and Rachel Lee round out their starting lineup. Both have good builds and will play college basketball somewhere.
