And none of that has anything to do with whether or not he can coach. Its an odd hire based on other candidates. Its my understanding the guy coached middle school just 2 seasons ago. I get the whole new guy, younger idea, but he's never coached before and Logan is a solid D1 program that they handed over to a guy that has never coached a minute at the varsity level. They had more qualified people. With that said I do wish the guy the best as I am a Logan guy and devoted supporter of their athletics. They have a lot of talent in the program and I hope he can make it work.
I am the same, a lot of times when you higher a younger guy it's not based on what he has already done as a coach, or what is on paper. But, it's based on the face-to-face interview and how you feel about them.

i wish the new coach well. my only concern is will he know how to use the talent that is returning and the talent going through the middle school grades now. we'll lose a ton to graduation this year. but the cabinet is far from empty.

I agree give him a chance, you got to start somewhere.I just hope he sticks around for awhile if he's any good. These outsiders do tend to move on more often than not.

Some locals have been in there..........did they do the job?

Or has Logan done better going else where in the past.

Count them. I would think one out of the last eight positions might be in order. Someone got these positions because they were better/more qualified I guess then anybody our system could put forth. I do not accept that premise. Must be in the water. Got to be something like that.

At least an outsider will not have any personal relations with any players or families!

Bottom line is for me as a Logan backer; they need to get and keep these new guys for a long period of time if they want to be successful. In Logan's hey day back when every sport was winning alot, every coach had been there a long time. Amyx, Janey, Fraunfelter, Robinson (track), Swinehart, Huntsberger, Walsh, they all stayed around and each program was successful. That needs to happen again. Let's hope the new hires are here for a long time to really build and teach.

Try to keep them around, BUT some coaches just do not work out and lose control of the sport! Ralph Taylor was here for quite a few years also!

Did any girls transfer out due to the new hire? Heard a while back that a couple of girls were going elsewhere and perhaps the new hire changed their minds.

This is almost the same post that was put up last year when a new coach was coming in.
