Waterford vs South Webster--Regional semi-final

The Wildcats and the Jeeps meet Thursday night in Jackson at 7pm. Word is this will be the better of the two games and the winner of this game would be the favorite to make it to state. Also heard that Megan Ball will play Thursday.

Who wins? Thoughts?

I think so, yes.

Ellie Johnson is a sophomore now, she's improved a lot since her freshman year and has shaken some of the rust off.

They're led by 5 seniors who have had a very successful career.

Waterford is absolutely loaded, though. The Jeeps know they'll have to play near perfect basketball to pull off the upset.

I think it will be a great game to watch!

Waterford returns every player from last years state runner up team except Taylor Hilverding. They are led by their 4 seniors, but the sophomores (IMO) are the key. Megan Ball and Alli Kern have both improved tremendously. Kern has a nose for the ball and is always in the right place. Plus the wildcats have had to learn to play without Ball, making them better when she came back. Ball is 6', can handle the ball, shoot the three and lead the fast break on a defensive rebound.

Replacing their leader in Hilverding this year was tough, she could play all 5 positions last year and was an extremely smart basketball player.

Waterford is the no-brainer pick to me. South Webster may be the second best team in the regional, honestly. Think it was sort of unfortunate the tournament framed C v C; SE v SE for the girls sports this year because, like volleyball, the two best teams are in the SE.

Whoever wins gets FCA who had some close games against opponents I thought they should've handled, or Granville Christian which has their "lightning in a bottle" squad with not much depth.

SW has lost to Ironton @ Ironton by 11.....lost to East carter Ky and split with Wheelersburg.

Waterford was 16-0 in the TVC-Hocking, they split with Parkersburg South, lost without Ball at home and won with Ball at South. They beat Fort Frye twice, once before the Leidke ACL injury and at FF after the injury. Their other two non-league games were against Alexander and Nelsonville York.

Sw beat springvally wv up at fairland . High scoring game. Think sw will win if they score 65 or more.

Whoever controls the tempo, and controls the glass will win this game! Both have plenty of scorers so the ball going through the hoop shouldn't be a problem (even though both defenses are great).

My honest opinion it will be close till halftime than Waterford will win by 15 plus they have a real at winning it all this year.
