Freshmen teams?

How many schools did not have enough girls to have a separate freshmen team this year? It seems like the number of girls playing basketball keeps getting smaller. Seems to me that it can hurt programs by not offering that freshmen year to learn the skills to become a reserve/varsity player. To make the jump from 8th grade to reserve is a mighty big leap in some cases.
