Logan won by about 15...they played a good/solid ball game. Did the little things well IMO.

Logan BB: Logan Vasity 45 Jackson 33. Jv also win. Once again the Logan girls stayed focused to win this away game against a very good and disciplined Jackson squad. Leading 30 to 16 at half the teams played even the second half. In the 4th Logan took the air out of the ball and forced Jackson to foul. Logan made 7 of 8 free throws in the 4th and no FG. Making your FT and controlling the ball in this situation in nice preparation for future games. Good game by both teams.

Hope Topf is healthy, the team really needs her leadership out on the floor, Not to mention her scoring ability. Hasn't she scored in douple digits each game, with a couple 20 plus games?

Logan BB: I believe Topf is good to go. Depending how this game tonight plays out maybe Topf can get some down time and the possibility of aggravating the injury that was incurred at Jackson would be marginal. This is the time to play "no peak". Take each game one at a time. Good luck ladies.

Logan BB: Logan 49 Warren 62. JV also loses. The Logan girls dug a big hole in the first half and could not recover. Halftime score was Warren 36 and Logan 16. Logan did get within 4 points in the 4th but fell short. Logan did not quit but credit Warren with staying strong for the win. Warren was 27 of 35 from the free throw line. I think Logan was 8 of 15.

The Lady Chiefs have a great collection of young ladies. IMO, they seem to be struggling with being consistent out on the court. They will have a strong game where everything goes right and they play well and then turn around and it all falls apart. Why this happens I am not sure. Lots of factors can come into play when you are dealing with athletes. Maybe a return to just the basic fundamentals of basketball? Let the girls relax and play the game of hoops that they have been playing for a very long time. They seem to play tense and tight and afraid to make mistakes. There WILL be mistakes, it happens to all of us, there will be bad passes, a mis-step in the wrong direction, a man open that shouldn't be, a bit of confusion once in a while, the key is to learn from that and move on. Work together to make each individual better. Encourage each other on the court and off, make sure that everyone is taking care of everyone else. Maybe a time to put the team first. Remember ladies it does take every single player, those on the court, those on the bench and those in the stands (that's right your parents and others that support you) to be successful. Pull it all together and finish your season strong. IT ultimately rests with each one of you. YOU are the ones on the court, playing the game.

Logan BB: The ladies travel to Marietta this Wednesday. IMO we got out played the last two games and that is how the game is played. We need a good game by all the players in the game to be competitive. We seem to always have a couple to step up but across the board we drop off some. Each player has to repond to their own opportunity to contribute making it a team game. All these ladies are ball players. Just play. Good luck at Marietta.

Logan BB: Logan 46 Marietta 66. Freshman and JV lose also. Not a very productive trip down to the river. No fuzzy bedtime stories for the kids in this one. Keep working girls because you are on the road again Saturday at Warren. Good luck Chiefs.

hmmm, guess it is time to make some adjustments, and start utilizing the post players in order to take some of the heat off of Topf. It is easy to defend a team that has only one bigtime player. walsh has to find another scoring threat, they are there he just has to motivate the girls to step up.

7/12 on FG and 12 rebounds for post player Chelsey Evans wasn't too shabby.

Logan BB: Another slow start. Down 19 points at halftime at Marietta says a lot in of itself. Evans (14 points) and Klingenberg (14 points) really stepped up after scoring just 2 points between them in their last game. Early foul issues put Toph (8 points) and Linton (6 points) on the bench and neither scored in the first half. Logan was 11 points on the short end from the foul line and most every game we give up any advantage here. Marietta has several real talented girls and we could not keep them in front of us leading to help side fouls etc. The final score does not do justice to the overall effort of the Logan girls.

Yes Chelsey had a good game, she is capable of playing that way everytime. She is not usually given the chance as she is not used for anything but rebounding most games. If the coach had used her more from the beginning of the season then all the defense wouldn't be able to focus on the perimeter players. I didn't see her developed as an important part of this team. I saw a kid struggling with her confidence, get yanked out for missing a put-back. I saw her getting picked on by her coach. hmmm, don't understand why that is allowed to happen in Logan, but it does at all levels. Maybe it is the fact that most of the girl's coaches are football coaches, they treat the girls the same way they do the football team. Big difference in how a boy responds to that versus how a girl responds.
