pfloyd wrote:... in my travels in the first 3 Weeks of the season I have witnessed some of the best PG play in a long - ball handling/perimeter shooting/creating their own shots / the ability to get to the rim - at least in the "number" of quality point guards I have seen Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line in many many many years ... AND I have only seen a limited number of PGs out there !!! looking forward to seeing MORE but here is "short list" of those who have made the biggest impression on pfloyd /along with the napkin stats they put up for the games I witnessed :
(in no particular order)
Max Knisley (Washington CH)
Tristan Bartoe (Vinton County)
Ridge Young (Logan Elm)
Lane Little (Logan)
Corey Wyman (Westfall)
Justin Dye (Southeastern)
Griffin Lutz (Athens)
Brandon Rowe (Minford)
Akia Brown (Portsmouth East)
Cameron King (Portsmouth Clay)
... other teams had quality PG as well BUT these players were simply outstanding on the nights I was there to see them play AND based on the newspaper articles/posting of napkin stats on svcsportzone.com /boxscores from the various papers etc. they CONTINUE to be THE man out front for their respective teams ...
... others you have seen ???
kyree Allison , 26 points against a very very good afracentric team tonight 20 plus against Huntington st joe last week averaging 18 points a game not to bad.
Rhodes < spell for Peake , and Rolfe from lucasville Valley ,3 of the best ive seen...not c ounting the big teams i seen at Shawnee state tournament.

yeah maybe the Trojans can scracth there way back up your list ,dont think ive ever seen anyone drop 20 spots at one time LOL but like last year when we dropped out I told you it dont matter where you start in basketball its where you are in the last week of regular season, and we ended up being last man standing in our district.

Need to check out the Fox kid for my Pointers. Freshman playing well above his years. Creates and sees floor very well, nice handles, shoots well. Will get stronger as he gets older and more seasoned. Definitely one to watch. Defends very well.

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #3
Portsmouth dropping 20 spots after a buzzer beating loss on the road is virtually unheard of in the history of pfloyd's Elite 8. The Trojans lost to Africentric 57-50 last night. Looks like another freefall for the Trojans in the next edition of the Elite 8.
The Fox kid for South Point is indeed worthy of mention. He had a very good game vs. the Trojans, and made 4 consecutive FT's in crunch time. Also #22 (name.....Hall?) had a really good game and I believe scored the winning layup at the buzzer. South Point returns 4 starters for next year.

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #3
Unioto 25
Berkshire 12
After a quarter
It was 12-10 Berkshire and Unioto got hot. 2 fouls early for Hosley and Wheeler, so that's something the Badgers could exploit. Brandon Kennedy with 13 already.
Unioto 34
Berkshire 26
Halftime
Berkshire has some nice length and athleticism. Struggling to finish around the hoop though.
After 3
Unioto 47
Berkshire 41
Two straight tight games, exactly what the Shermans need.
Final
Unioto 66
Berkshire 56
A variety of big plays down the stretch put it away for the Shermans. Will have more once I get home.

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #3
Bryan Rolfe has taken his game to another level.
35 at West on Friday
Came back with 30 tonight to lead the Indians back against an Oak Hill team that shot the lights out (12 3's).
Bryan is a very tough cover at this point.
