Unioto had its' 55 game regular season win streak stopped by the Cavs at Hatton Gymnasium ... sounded like a great high school game ... No undefeateds' in SEOhio this season ... count on the same matchup in the Southeastern D2 sectional final next week between these 2 teams ...

Tommy Bolte having graduated last year from Chillicothe, plays for Concord University in W.Va. ... I just looked up his status - seems to be getting about 12 mpg playing time in his first season at the next level ...bbjunky81 wrote:Is the Bolte kid still at Chillicothe?

Wheelersburg will be a force in the SEOhio portion of the post season - aren't they always?!! ... all of the moaning and groaning about the Burg not having this or that, no going to be able to do this ... every year these guys just get it done ... my guess is that there will be orange and black at the Convo again this year ...
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #10
They will more the likely face off with Ironton in round two to get there ,so yeah I'm betting there will be orange and black lol
Burg is tough it was a BIG wim for the Trojans to go into their house and hang on to win ,Ky"ree had 13 and Kendall Reynolds who has had a very hot hand latley finished with 23/ good thing is we are still getting points from our bench mike Malone hit 2 or 3 treys also along with freshman dj yeley

Very proud of the Trojans on grinding out a tough win at Wheelersburg. Once again, Kyre Allison and Kendall Reynolds led PHS at both ends of the court. They have been as consistent a duo as any in the SE district. The Portsmouth bench has been the underpublicized part of this team. Mike Malone, DJ Eley, Daniel Jordan, and Jordan Lucas have provided much needed offensive punch, and have done their part in creating turnovers.
If Portsmouth can defeat Gallia Academy tomorrow, it will be the 42nd time in PHS history that a boys basketball team has won at least 15 games.
Wheelersburg is a much better basketball team now than the one I saw early in the year. The Pirates now seem to have a good chemistry, and the biggest improvement appears to be on the offensive side. Coach Ater's teams always challenge their opponent on defense.
Last night was a classic game between two rivals that date their battles back to the 70's. Last night's win by the Trojans gave PHS a 22-17 lead in the series, and 10-1 in the last 11 games. Considering how Wheelersburg has dominated Portsmouth in most every sport over the course of the last few decades, boys basketball has been the one sport that Trojan fans can take solace in.

North Adams can locked up at least a share in the SHAC small schools division tonight at home vs. Eastern Brown, other game of interest for the Green Devils will be Fayetteville at Manchester, as NA is tied for 1st with Fayetteville.

Yes, however last year they were D4, and have just recently moved back to D3. Regardless they have a 8-3 conference record, and have beat Lynchburg and played Peebles close twice.
