Carver Myers -- Morgan HS

Post by 91raider97bobcat »

In a 45-41 win over Columbus Academy last night, he set a new boys' career scoring mark for the school, breaking one set in 1974 by Steve Inman.
He's also less than 75 points away from setting a new all-time scoring mark (boys or girls) that was set in 1997 by Maggie Lawrence.

... congratulations Carver Myers !!! since the days of jjhuddle I have pushed for Morgan to be part of the SE District ! Morgan has had a quality program for years ! with outstanding players of which Carver Myers is most definitely one of ... Morgan as a team has flourished ! - this is testament to the quality of players who make up the MHS program ... well done Carver Myers! - individual honors that come within the context of TEAM ... wishing you and the Morgan TEAM the best with more team and individual honors and milestones to pass in this totally "not normal" season ... even though the season itself will no doubt have an "asterisk *" your accomplishments will be honored/remembered and set as goals for the youngsters that follow in your footsteps to shoot for ... to THAT end you will have guaranteed the Morgan program will continue to be a force in Southern/Southeast Ohio hoops for years to come ... THAT is a legacy to be proud of - well done ! - pfloyd

Tonight in a 54 - 50 won over Crooksville, he scored 23 points to become the all time leading scorer (boys or girls). He passes the record set by Maggie Lawrence in 1997.

Maggie's record was set in 1997. Myers broke the record with a second-chance bucket with 46 seconds left in a tight ballgame to give Morgan a four-point cushion at the time.
