Logan Elm 47
Zane Trace 56 a final

Two of the best TEAMS Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line "going at it" on the Reservation tonight - physical, chippy, great D on both sides, size DOES matter ... 2 teams who KNOW how to play defense ... one team in Zane Trace with the advantage of size at every position - which led to ZT getting 3-4 shots on goal every trip on offense while the size limiting LE to more "one & dones" than offensive boards & putbacks for points , one team in LE with the potential to put up big numbers from the outside with some of the best perimeter scorers in SEOhio - less than a week ago LE went 13/27 from behind the arc - BUT tonight vs ZT the Braves were unable to find the open shot from 3 point land due outstanding perimeter D by the Pioneers ... from the Cheap Seats it was an outstanding game - both teams are going to be in the Elite 8 ,both TEAMS will be making post season runs to the Convo ... tonight? ZT led by Cam Evans running the show (22 points) and Triton Davidson (20 points) controlled the boards at both ends while making it difficult for LE to see let along get to the rim ... Zane Trace 56 Logan Elm 47 a final ...

The first quarter was as good as you will find by both teams in a high school game ... 5 LE players dented the scorebook led by Gabe Chalfin's 6 points ... the Pioneers of Coach Kellough countered with what was the theme the rest of the game - size , strength on the boards, led by Triton Davidson's 6 points on 3 putback baskets with a 5 point assist by 6-BIG Nick Nesser ... Zane Trace 13 Logan Elm 15 end of 1 ... Round 2 of this four round battle went to ZT as they applied pressure on the perimeter -limiting the Braves looks from downtown - playing physical D in the half court, especially on the boards ... holding LE to one shot as the rule in the quarter - LE hitting but 1 trey and 8 points ... ZT added 13 points led by Evans 5 points/Davidson's 4 ... Zane Trace 26 Logan 23 at the half ... the 3rd quarter was a battle of "duos" for both teams as only 2 players on each team contributed on the scoreboard - LE's Gabe Chalfin found the range from the floor hitting 2 triples (10 pts) with help from Jason Sailor (2 points) ... for ZT the floor leader Cam Evans showed what we've come accustom to seeing - the strong perimeter player forced his way inside which led to Evans getting to the line for 2 points/added 2 with a mid-range jumper/ completed his whole package by draining 2 contested treys from behind the 3 point line (10 points) ... Davidson added 4 points ... Zane Trace 40 Logan Elm 35 after 3 ... the final quarter had the Braves make their run - as we knew they would - forcing 4 ZT turnovers , Isaac Ward got into the paint for 3 buckets , a Sailor triple ... at 4:38 in the 4th Logan Elm took the lead 44-43 TO ZT ... the Pioneers went on a 13-3 run to close out the game turning up the D getting 3 baskets in transition , a Cam Evans 3 ball and Davidson wait for it PUT BACK off an offensive rebound ... the scoring ended with ZT 7/8 from the FT line ... Zane Trace 56 Logan Elm 47 a final

Very good rundown Pfloyd. Sounds as if it was a very good ballgame between 2 very good teams. Your time of the year, and it's only getting started.

Knew this would be a good one. Logan Elm has some young talent and as usual, SHOOTERS!

Good to see Triton have a great game. If someone could get that kids mindsight and energy right like that every game he would be Unstoppable in the SVC.

He could and should. Although last night he benefited from LE lack of size but his energy was there most of the night

Both of these teams are fantastic in different ways. ZT is bigger and better than last year. I will be surprised if anyone comes close to them this year in their league. Bigs are playing off each other. Very good team.
