Nevan Yates Covocation Career

Post by Dundas »

Following the Jackson loss to Sheridan today, I would like to congratulate Nevan Yates. There are probably numerous PROGRAMS in the area that haven’t had the success HE has had at the district and regional level. Yates finishes his career (4 seasons) with a 6-4 mark at the Convo in Athens. 10 games in 4 seasons at the district/regional level. HALF OF A SEASON playing in front of thousands at the Round House. What an amazing stat. Congrats Nevan and good luck at the next level. VC is proud of you.

Congrats

I’ve always wondered who has scored the most points at the convo in the tournament all time

Wow! Eleven games at the Convo. A lot of players are lucky to be able to play 1 or 2 games there. Again, Congrats Nevan.

Congratulations Nevan Yates - THAT is a great Napkin Stat right there Dundas ! thanks for sharing ... before the FU vs ZT game the entire Jackson TEAM and coaching staff came up to the Cheap Seats - Nevan led the team in shaking pfloyd's hand along with Coach Morrow & his fine staff ... I thanked them all, wished them all the best in their game today ... thank you Coach Morrow ... this old man will not forget ... much respect to you, your staff and those young men ... on the biggest day of their season, at the Convo ... they take the time to wish ME well for tomorrow's scans/tests at the James and thank me for what I do for high school hoops ... Dan Morrow ! there isn't ANYONE I have met who doesn't think the world of YOU, and the class act that YOU are ... WE only know each other in passing and from our shared love of the sport of high school basketball BUT I am glad we have met, and I'm sure we WILL talk Jackson hoops for years to come ... thank you for the kind words ...

Dante Jackson played all 4 years there, I'm sure he is high on the list.

I was thinking Nick Aldridge. They didn’t get their his freshman year but he went to state twice and the regional finals.

He wasnt a lights out scorer, but Brandon Waginger played a lot of games at the Convo.

P.J. Rase probably made more free throws alone than most players total points scored.

The DIV at the barn does hurt the DIV scoring totals. Nathan Cozart also played and scored a lot at the Convo. But no regional games hurts his total I'm sure.

Again, the answer to this question is Dante Jackson, who scored more in the Convo Tournament games than most players score in a career.
