After reading the comment Adena's coach put in the paper, he may have just pulled the Panther's tail !!! Expect a hard fought game from both teams. I got Peake 56-49. Definitely will be the best game of the weekend.
“They got four or five different guys that can get hot from the outside and knock down shots,” Bradley said. “They have a nice little freshman that shoots it lights out, and then they have some nice big athletic guys that are strong and kind of imposing inside, so we got to do a good job of guarding the three-point line and not allowing them to get open looks and clean looks off inside-out actions.”

Not sure how he's pulling the Panther's tail? Sounds like he respects them to me.

"Everybody talks about how young we are, but they’re even younger,” coach said.

He did throw about a half dozen compliments to the Peake. From the articles I've read, both coaches seem to respect what's coming at them tomorrow.

The "to young" reference has got to go, teams are playing now based off of skill and execution.

Gotcha. I certainly can't speak for coach Bradley, but I think he was saying their youth was why they didn't have a great regular record, particularly early, but that they've figured it out and they're a force to be reckoned with (at least that's how it seemed to be written by the local reporter). Anyway, looking forward to the game tomorrow. Two teams playing well at the right time with a lot on the line. Should be fun!

2 young teams on the Big Stage , at the Convo, District Final , a chance to go to the Sweet 16, OVC vs SVC ... it doesn't get any better than this ! Coach Davis' Panthers were supposed to be a year away ! 3 freshmen/5 sophs/3 juniors ... starting Austin Jackson (jr)/Trent Dearth(soph)/Tylan Hutchison (jr)/Eli Archer (soph)/Levi Blankenship (fr) ... off the bench Nathan Cox (soph)/Josh Cox (jr)/Travis Grim (soph) ... won't find many TEAMS playing for a District Championship with THOSE grade level athletes getting the starting/bench minutes ... Adena IS relatively young as well ! although they DO play 2 excellent "old men"/seniors in Zach Fout (6-3) & Caleb Foglesong (6-4) ... Logan Bennett (6-4) soph/Preston Sykes (so)/Nate Throckmorton (so) ... the possibility of (6-3) soph /starting PG Jarrett Garrison returning is a possibility as well ... IF Garrison IS able to play (not just in body but to his capabilities) - he's a game changer/puts Adena at another level - we will see how it plays out in warm-ups ...

... wish both TEAMS the best in this one ! peake71 I've got my new Beasts of the Southeast pullover in the ready for tomorrow night ! ...

An interesting and key matchup in this game will be Chesapeake's 6-4 sophomore Eli Archer vs. Adena's 6-4 senior Zach Fout. Archer is one of the better sophomores in the SE district, while Fout had very good games vs. Portsmouth in the sectional and Ironton in the district semis. This matchup might determine who wins this game. Chesapeake is probably a year ahead of schedule because they don't have a senior on their roster, with their starting 5 mostly sophomores. Adena has played inspired basketball without their PG Garrison, and has shown the ability to make clutch shots or a defensive stop when needed.

I thought 3 (fout?) and 11 (Bennet?) were very good for Adena. Also thought the Adena coaching staff did a great job planning against that Peake zone.

Pretty good game, little sloppy by both teams. I was impressed with Adena's defense in the man to man half court, they closed out so quick on Peake at the 3 point line they were unable to hit. Think Peake may have hit just a couple 3s on the night and a lot of unforced turnovers and missed free throws. Great season by Peake they'll be back next year, good luck to Adena next week.
