I have a Question

Post by BigBlueNation »

I was at the Northwest vs Ironton St. Joe game lastnight. It was Northwest's senior night. At beginning of ceremony they honored St. Joe's senior cheerleaders and players. Announced their names and give them a gift. This is the first time I have seen this. Is this common practice, does other schools do this for their opponents.
I though it was pretty good gesture.

I’ve seen it before, but not real often. It is pretty cool to do for sure.

I’ve noticed about every team in OVC does it, and has for awhile.

I'm pretty sure that the SOC schools are doing it, and have been for years.

First time I saw it done was by Jeff Rase who was coaching the Clay girls. 1996. He gave gifts and flowers or balloons to his Seniors and our Seniors.

So we started doing it as our Senior night was the next week (South Webster Girls).

We had Green on Senior Night and they appreciated it — just as we had when Jeff did it for our girls the week before.

Portsmouth West done this for Waverly on the last game at West. Cheerleaders for West even gave little gift bags, thought it was a really nice thing.
