The weird thing for points, do you count pre consolidation stats? Athens careers leader should be Roger Bentley but he played 3 years at Chauncey and 1 at Athens

Correct. Varsity points only. No jv either. If you counted jv you would have a ton of people with 1000. Beau Justice scored 42 points I believe as a freshman in his first varsity game.

I think they should count. Maybe an asterisk beside it with the consolidation note, but 1,000 is 1,000

Chris Hunt has 960 from Symmes Valley his junior and senior season but he was a transfer from Texas and they never sent his stats over.

There is a new banner up in the Oak Hill gym that lists all of the 1,000 point scorers, but it doesn't have the total points scored. A couple more names that I remember seeing on there are Alan Hayes and Dusty Boggess.

I know for sure that they're all 1,000 point scorers, just not the totals. I'm also sure that missing at least one person from this list.
Borden?
I don't think so on Borden. Last year I know Landon Carroll, I also think Michell Hale.

Hard to believe....as a soph I thought Borden was 18 ppg at Jackson. Adding in 2 more years and all those tournament games I would’ve thought he would’ve made it

You very well may be right, I was just guessing. I know for sure he made the 2 most important 3 point shots that was ever made for OH in the State
Championship Game.

I was there.

Maybe my 18 ppg was misremembering but it was at least 16 ppg for 21 games....if he averaged 14 ppg his jr and Sr year he would be right at or above 1,000

I have a friend who goes to most of the OH boys and girls games. I've tried calling him this afternoon, but haven't been able to reach him. I'll find out for sure.

Holden will probably move in the 2nd place but will not catch Burleson. Staker and Walke would be much higher had the three point shot been around back then. Those two could shoot the lights out.

Also, the guys listed in the late 80's, early 90's only had 20 regular season games and now players have 22 regular season games. It doesn't sound like much, but if you are a 3 year starter that averages only 20 points per game, they already have 120 more points than those who came before them. I can't believe Burg has never kept track. Just curious, how were the stats found? No one before the 80's score 1000?
