I’d say the top 6 could beat each other any given night.

D2 seems to be the toughest of the 3 Southeast Division tournaments this year. Lots of very solid teams and even some teams with losing records that are very dangerous. Sectional Finals will be absolutely brutal in D2 this year.

I know the guys who have posted thus far know this: but for anyone else —

7 plays 10. Winner gets 2. Winner to districts

8 plays 9. Winner gets 1. Winner to districts.

3 plays 6. Winner to districts.

4 plays 5. Winner to districts.


The 3 v 6 game and the 4 v 5 game should be worth the price of admission.

The 2 v 7 game might also be — Although I think this sectional is truly top 6 heavy — 7 and 8 won’t be total pushovers. The 1 seed has lost to an 8 seed in the last 5 years at this sectional at least once. My hope is that every town arrives at Tournament time Healthy.

If everyone agrees (our usual posters or anyone who truly cares about the D2 tournament) we can use this thread as the running thread for D2 sectionals. This has been SEcentric thus far. If someone from the other sectional wants to keep records of those teams in this thread or start another thread for the Logan D2 sectional then go for it. If no one does by Sunday then I will do records for that side as well on here.

If you guys think we should use 2 separate threads for the 2 D2 sectionals then message me or simply start one for the other and I can change the name of this one to Southeastern D2 sectional.

The last few years the Sectional threads have been some of the best. I’ve learned some things as people make cases for their teams to be specifically seeded. And, for the most part the discussions have been fair and open-minded.

It took a while last night. Up 10 at half. Put it away in the 3rd. Some starters didn’t play any in 4th.

But, Trace has some pieces. And I would hope having 5 coaches from The FAC voting that common sense would prevail.

What a GREAT sectional this one will be at Southeastern ... obviously being IN Logan I have always gone out to the high school for the Logan Sectional - one ... it's been a great sectional ! but this coming February? dang the Southeastern Sectional has outstanding teams across the board - wow ! ... I may be making the trek to Southeastern for the SE Sectional this coming February ...

Well 2 of the 5 FAC coaches are new... I didn’t remember Jackson being seeded lower than they should have been.

This Sectional possibly getting Pfloyd to bypass his nearby Logan sanctuary tells you all you need to know

The #5 seed in this is arguably a top 8-10 team in the entire SE District and the #6 seed islikely a top 12-15 team in the entire district

Going to be an interesting January as Gallia gets locked into their league where they won’t lose and Jackson/Washington/McClain beat each other. Unless Waverly sweeps OH or upsets Burg they might be looking at that 6 seed.

Going to be a lot of jockeying for the 1 and 2 seeds.

Waverly plays both Jackson and Court House. That will go a long way in determining their seeding.
