Oaks won every 10 min quarter against vc and circleville and tied once against vc
These are incorrect. Of course, VC grad is disgruntled for whatever reason. But here are the scores.

Vinton County v. Circleville, lost 12-5
Vinton County v. Oak Hill, tied 13-13
Vinton County v. Circleville. won 15-4
Vinton County v. Oak Hill, tied 13-13
Vinton County v. Circleville, won 19-7
Vinton County v. Oak Hill, lost 10-6

Therefore, Vinton County beat Circleville 39-23. Lost to Oak Hill 36-32. But won the day with Vinton County outscoring their opponents, 71-59. Take if for what it is worth, which it ain't much. This information and .50 cents will get you a cup of coffee at McDonalds.

... thanks hawkeyepierce for the breakdown - greatly appreciated ... new "pieces parts" for Coach Combs and his fine staff to mold into the VC teams we are used to seeing on the hardwood ... one of the "constants" I have found in basketball is that the best PROGRAMS - which ARE run by the best coaching staffs - do their magic EVERY year ... look at Logan Elm last season Coach Stiverson/Coach Holbert & the rest the LE staff had more 14 year olds ON THE COURT than on the bench for VARSITY ! - look at the TEAM they were able to put together ... not by coincidence LE has another one of the BEST "PROGRAMS" in SEOhio hoops just like Vinton County, Warren, Portsmouth, Fairfield Union, Unioto, Eastern Brown, Ironton, Fairland, Trimble, Chesapeake, Oak Hill, Jackson is now where I would give them quality program status , Eastern Pike, Waverly, ZT will be there with Coach K, Piketon ... I look forward to seeing the improvement by VC throughout the season - as a fan of SEOhio hoops I KNOW "the teaching of the game" happening at VC - fundamentals at both ends of the court, defense , coaching up the kids to find and fit the roles that TEAM needs to be successful ... I'm not worried about what Coach Combs and his staff are doing down Rte.93 in McArthur ... I wish VC the best as always this season ...

I was told they only have 8 on the varsity roster??? If that is true --it WILL be a long year--the league is down this year--I don't see VC in the top 3. But in a year or so(if we keep our talent) we will be back.

No. That is not true.

#2 Junior Will Arthur 5'10"
#3 Senior Ricky body 5'9"
#4 Senior Austin Hitte 5'9"
#5 Junior Gavin Arbaugh 6'0"
#10 Sophomore Randall Matteson 5'10"
#11 Sophomore Lance Montgomery 5'11"
#12 Sophomore Brock Hamon 5'10"
#14 Sophomore Kollin Johnson 5"10"
#20 Sophomore Esiason Herrold 6'1"
#21 Junior Ash Abele 6'1"
#22 Freshman Eli Radabaugh 5'8"
#23 Senior Trafford Dunn 6'0"
#24 Senior Eli Griffith 6'4"
#44 Junior Aaron Stevens 5'9"

On any given night, the Vikings may run 8 or 9 deep. The others will play a lot of Junior Varsity, which is very important for their development. They will need those competitive minutes to improve.

I’d probably guess we have to cut more than 8 kids from the program every year. That’s probably the dumbest thing Ive ever read on here. The interest in VC basketball, boys and girls, is higher than just about any other school in SEO. It’s been that way for a couple decades.

That’s probably a good thing. The big guys they had last year just slowed them down from what I saw. I wasn’t too impressed with their offensive abilities, either. Losing Speakman will be a big loss for them, though.

Size never hurts--when you play teams that have more than you --you can be at a disadvantage. But when you only have 1 boy at 6 ft 4 and everyone smaller--even in the TVC it can't help.
