Great to hear that the young guns are doing well. Not sure how much PT (outside of Dennis and Merritt) some of them will get when the season begins with several upperclassmen returing, but it sounds like it should be another solid season for The Blue an White.

As the season’s start inches closer excitement for the upcoming season is growing exponentially on Ohio St Rt #339. The Big Bad Blue have had great numbers at open gym and their is a definite air of anticipation of the upcoming season.
The Warriors will have many new pieces to fit together but the talent level in Veto is good. Time will tell whether they will be “very” good.
Coach Maddox and his staff never fail to put a competitive team on the floor. This year will be no exception. The question will be can the young pieces they have can mature enough to consistently be able contribute. Returning Senior lettermen Noah Nichols, Clay Miller and Bryce Knost will be key in helping the younger players make that JV to Varsity transition. Belpre transfer Brandon Simoniette will be a great addition. The junior sharpshooter brings 2 years of starting varsity experience to the team.
It’ll be a fun year to be a Warrior Fan. Fresh new faces and the opportunity to be pretty good will make for a great winter of HS basketball 🏀 for Warren Warrior Fans.

GO BIG BAD BLUE!

... I love looking down the list of returnees for Coach Maddox's Warriors - full of names from the past ! - Bryce Knost, Brett Gandee, Seth Dennis, Gabe Venham ... these kids KNOW what it means to be a Warren Warrior for Coach Maddox ... add to the mix Clay Miller, Noah Nichols, Cole Fairbanks and there are a number of other BIGS from Coach Mitchem's squad that will be making a difference for the BBB ... add to the mix Makiah Merritt (6-4+), Joel Chevalier (6-3) , a pair 6-5 bigs Dylan Pyatt, Issac Colegrove both needing to get varsity experience but both bringing BIGS size to the front lines ... transfer from Belpre Brandon Simoniette comes with varsity experience under his belt ... Warren is in the Elite 8 for a reason - they will be GOOD !

... the other intangible is the coaching - Coach Maddox, Coach Coffman, Coach Mitchem, Coach Colegrove, Coach Padgitt ... this group takes a back seat to no one ... they been together for a long time and it shows in the product that Warren puts on the hardwood every season ...

After 4 scrimmages against 10 different teams the Warriors are starting to resemble a Warren Local basketball 🏀 team. Playing tough physical defense while playing team orientated offense.
Senior Noah Nichols has been shooting lights out while also being the ringleader of a high active and athletic defense. His leadership has proven to be instrumental in getting the young kids up to speed. Sr Clay Miller also has brought the solid play of a senior at Warren. Bryce Knost an important piece of the equation this year was injured the 1st scrimmage but the senior guards return is greatly anticipated.
Junior Brandon Simoniette has proved to be a great addition to Warrior Basketball 🏀. Simoniette while learning the system has shown he is a force that will be a valuable member of the this year’s team.
Sophomores Seth Dennis, Makiah Merritt and Joel Chevalier are learning on the job but seem to be more than up to the task. The smooth PG Dennis has been the floor general thus far. Running the Warriors offense but also providing firepower himself. SF Makiah Mertitt has shown flashes of an awesome talent. The 6’4” Wing plays above the rim and rebounds on the offensive end with a passion. A sweet silky midrange jumper makes him a difference maker.

WB, the Warriors will HAVE TO be good to advance out of the Logan Sectional again this season though - Sheridan, Athens, Logan Elm, Warren, Vinton Co., Fairfield Union ( New Lex, Westfall, Circleville, Marietta - all look to be improved & spoilers) ...

Tonight the BBB rolled NY 94-42 in a Foundation Game at the WariorDome. Sophomore Makiah Merritt and Junior Dylan Place led the Warriors with 13 points apiece. Sophomore Seth Dennis had 11. Four other players were close to double figures. 2 with 9 and 2 others with 8.
Warren played a high level brand of defense with lots of interchangeable parts. Playing without 2 seniors because of injuries Noah Nichols and Bryce Knost, the Warriors showed they have plenty of debth and lots of kids that can score the basketball 🏀
Things looking good thus far on St Rt #339

Both kids have ankle injuries. Nichols will be ready to go 1st game at Marietta. Knost injury is a bit more serious but word is by mid December he should be up to speed.
