Circleville
Logan Elm
Teays Valley
Canal
Hamilton
Logan
Watkins Memorial
Not going to happen. Circleville/LE are both D4 football/D2 everything else, while most of those other schools are D2/D1. Logan Elm also has a 40-year old rivalry with Amanda going back to when the Braves joined the MSL in the 1970s.

Having six-team divisions in the MSL would be better to have some crossover games. TV could still play Circleville and Logan Elm, for example. Bloom-Carroll and Canal Winchester could resume their rivalry and on down the line. A D4 football school is not going to play in a D2 league, but could play a couple crossovers because it wouldn't count in divisional standings and you can account for that with the rest of the schedule.

A couple reasons why this won't happen.

1. Travel, as you noted, would be longer for schools like TV, HT, Watkins and LH, so that's likely a non-starter.
2. Hamilton Township struggles in most sports besides football, so I don't think they'd be for it. They seem to be quite content in the Buckeye.
3. The ship has likely sailed on Canal being in a big-school division of the MSL unless the OCC would screw them in a realignment.

With Canal Winchester, Chillicothe, Hamilton Township, Logan, and Teays Valley in a secondary (duel) league (primary league for Logan), it allows for the other teams to schedule competitive teams that are somewhat familiar with each other that doesn't not result in too much extra travel, doesn't interfere with the other schools primary conferences, and still leaves a few games for the other members to schedule local non-conference rivalries; could be done for all sports including Football. Of course should makeup games become an issue, the other teams primary conference schedule would come 1st.

An additional option for Logan, they could also look to see if Athens, Jackson, and Warren want create a 2nd duel league to keep historic rivalries going and help with Warren's scheduling along with Logan; could also be done for all sports including Football.

It would be 14 combined duel league games for Logan in Basketball total leaving 8 non-conference games. 16 Conference/League games for Jackson, 18 for Athens, Chillicothe, Canal Winchester, and 20 for Hamilton Township and Teays Valley (assuming Liberty Union remains in the MSL Buckeye non-football).

While I'm sympathetic to the Logan fans, and the Logan athletic department, as they struggle to find a league to call home, this is a topic that's been discussed for years that only sounds more desperate and less reasonable post-by-post.

I agree that Logan would be a good candidate for MSL expansion, but the fact of the matter is that the MSL is not interested in adding Logan, at least not at this time; the MSL has no reason to expand; the MSL has no reason to reshuffle its current configuration to accommodate Logan; the MSL is perfectly content with its current situation; and, the MSL isn't obligated to make Logan the first choice if they do expand.

No one is interested in breaking the MSL-Buckeye alignment, such as HT and TV defecting, to accommodate Logan in a 'big, but not OCC big' school league.

After the Muskingum Valley League, the MSL-Buckeye has been the most stable league, for public schools, between area codes 614 and 740. With the exception of Canal Winchester outgrowing the rest of the league, with the expectation they'd grow larger with new developments being built in the last 10 years, and Liberty Union filling that spot (which, LU had previously played with these schools in a league anyways for decades), the MSL-Buckeye has a great set-up the way it currently is - local rivals, parity between schools, great attendance, and great symbolism. While the MSL has done some expansion work to other divisions, the Buckeye has been pretty easy to deal with. I don't expect "we want Logan" to be the burning desire of the superintendents and AD's at Amanda, Bloom-Carroll, Liberty Union, et al.

Logan may have burned any bridge - albeit a rope bridge - when the Chiefs dropped Fairfield Union from their schedule for the upcoming season -left FU staff looking to fill a game slot - which they did - but made it a "hassle" for them when playing Logan was a "no-brainer" for both schools - LHS getting the "W" vs FU early last season (smh) ...

Was it actually Logan that dropped FU ? I heard something a little different. I like actual facts . If they did what was the reason ?

Chieftains went 4-0 on day 1 of OU Team Camp, defeating Bloom-Carroll, Licking Heights and Portsmouth West (2x; played twice because one team didn't show up).

Beat Tuscarawas and Federal Hocking so far today. Lost to Fairfield Union, narrowly, twice. They have two more wins today, just not entirely sure who they were.

Come on guys....Just once propose a league where Logan is NOT the largest school in both Boys and Girls sports! Just once, include someone bigger into the picture! Logan has 100+ more boys and girls than half of these schools, is considerably larger than Circleville, Logan Elm. Granted, this is better than some of the teams that has been on the Logan Football Schedule.

You cannot get into a bigger school league if they will not travel to Logan. To get schools that are the same size as Logan to come here you would have to have some school leave their league to form a new one and that will not happen. Logan really has no choice so people need to stop crying about it and settle on what we can schedule. If schools do not like it stay away...just that simple. Things are going to fall into place for Logan, we just need to wait.

ALL schools reach out to fill their schedule . Some like to play better competition to get them ready for tournament so if you see a Logan As a small D1 play a large D2 as like Warren that makes good sense for Warren. Logan has scheduled several D1 THAT ARE IN COMPARISON Larger Than the comparison between Warren and Logan . If you do not want to schedule up tell your AD . I do not see anyone complaining from Logan and they have a tough schedule. Just My opinion but what do I know?

I love playing you guys, but funny how you ignore my request. Ask for and/or propose a league where you are NOT the big boy on the block. Maybe you guys just are jealous of Athens and don't want to earn anything.

The OCC is the only league remotely close and as stated a bazillion times on here, they don't want anything to do with Logan. Logan is too far a way from them. Logan has a hard enough time getting them once a year to fill a schedule. I'm not sure what your meaning by "jealous of Athens"? whats there to be jealous of?

They are talking down about Athens going to the TVC and being the big fish (I think)
