This should be a Dandy! South Point lost to Waverly and split with Gallia winning the 2nd game by 17, however Gallia people said the team had been battling the flu so weren't at full speed....I may be wrong but I think Waverly from what I remember Waverly is the more seasoned team.......The only way I see Gallia winning this game is if they feed the ball down to Peck and loveday to use their size, and make this a half court game.... My prediction is Waverly 60 Gallia 50..

Waverly needs to play well this week at Northwest tomorrow and hosting Minford on Friday for Senior night. Need to pick up wins to build on the HUGE come from behind win at Lynchburg on Saturday. Tigers possibly faced the best player they saw all year at Lynchburg so beating them helped the confidence. Need to beat Minford and do better containing Gullion then they did first time around. All this will help leading into the game vs Gallipolis.

The biggest challenge for the Tigers in this matchup will be rebounding the ball as GA has some really good size.

Will GA be able to handle Waverly's pressure?

Size vs. speed, this one will be interesting. In my opinion, the best 4/5 matchup around!

Hard to know how I feel about this game almost 2 weeks away.. Blue Devils played coal grove last night but I have no details besides they won.. Hopefully they have word on Mccllenend injury.. they really need him back for ball handiling..

Blu Devils have Jackson and Portsmouth this week.. if they have a full roster I would expect 2 wins to finish season.. depending on those 2 games would base what I think will happen here.

If Blue Devils don't get there point guard back it may be waverly by a lot.. If he is ready to go I think the blue Devils will be ok against waverly..

Shadows of Hawhee and Osborne.

I have not seen either team but from what I have read, Waverly has struggled with teams with size who can rebound and force the game into a half court battle. Gallia Academy would be my pick in a very close game, 51-48.

Tigers aren't shooting like they were when they jumped out to a 9-1 record for sure. Horrendous shooting night against Wheelersburg on Friday, somewhat better at Lynchburg on Saturday but then the first half at Northwest last night was worse than the Wheelersbug game. Cade came out in the 3rd period to spark a 17 point Tiger run with a drive to the bucket for 2, three makes from downtown and two FT's within a couple minute span. Cade and Clayton have to be shooting well from outside and hopefully get another shooter involved (Adrian, Pennington, Reed, or Rigsby). They just haven't been consistent second half of the season. And for whatever reason poor teams shoot lights out from downtown against the Tigers. Northwest nailed 5 of 7 in the 4th to keep cutting it to 2 late in the game. Valley and West shot lights out in games at Waverly.

Gallia academy even with all there height doesn't always rebound the best. I know nothing about Waverly but if they can press big time. Blue devils may be in trouble if Mccellend is not back. They are 4-1 without him so far. But out of all the teams they have played Portsmouth is the only one of those teams that pressure a lot. and Blue Devils turned it over a ton. Don't know if Mcellend will be back by this game or not. He is off crutches now. But has not been released to practice yet. He is not a great point guard but having him in the game probably lowers Blue devils turnovers 5 or 6 a game.

Biggest thing i see in this game is can Waverly control Peck. He is probably playing his best basketball right now and is a handful. It is awaful hard to double him or help to much Portsmouth did it 3 times last night and Loveday made them pay every-time. Think it will be a great game Blue devils winning 10 of there last 12 playing with a lot of confidence.

I look for Waverly to go 10 to 12 deep on the bench in this game. On top of the usual subs (Pennington, Adrian, Reed) I can see Swain, Nibert, Lybrook and maybe Penrod seeing action in this game to keep players fresh.

If Waverly goes 12 deep they are in trouble. That means someone is not playing well and Travis is trying to find someone to contribute. High school kids should not need that much rest to stay fresh. Nice to see we have grown a couple of inches since the last game (Lol). I would be disappointed if this team doesn't make it to the convo.
