Coaching History At Your School

Post by Basketball:30 »

From time to time this old man stumbles upon coaching biographies where I find out that a coach was at a place that I had no idea where he was at.

I thought it'd be interesting if everyone could compile a list of the coaching history at their respective school. Maybe list in chronological order and the years that they were there. This will be fun!

Thanks for including records! I totally forgot that Lisath was at Unioto. Was that his first varsity job?

Yes. He had assisted at Portsmouth on one of their State Championship teams and then I believe was the HC at Columbus State CC. I was lucky enough to play under our last 3 coaches when I was in HS.

Lisath's last game at Unioto was our last trip to the Convo for 12 seasons, although it was definitely not his last trip there.

Thanks for the information, Crab. I'm assuming that the same Dave Young from North Adams?

Also, I did not know Arch Justice made a stop at Minford. I thought he had came to valley directly from Clay.

Arch was my dad's coach at clay. He still speaks about him all the time, during basketball season at least twice a week he tells us a story about him. Sounded like he made a big impact upon a lot of young men.

noitall: Dick's son Rick coached for many years at Portsmouth East; then came to Portsmouth and coached from 2002-2006. He won over 300 games in his career, combining both East and Portsmouth records. In fact, the 3 Hopkins coaches all together won almost 700 games total.
