Re: The D2 Logan Sectional
Votes have to be in friday feb 10th at midnight. My guess, some coaches with road games friday night may fill out their ballots even before the games on the 10th. Not a big fan of this system.
Re: The D2 Logan Sectional
I have absolutely no argument to make this year and really don't think it would help anyway with the depth of the sectional.
Even if VC gets the one and would play a subpar game in a sectional final (not saying they will, just using the 1 vs. 8/9 example), they could even be in trouble. One of the better sectionals we've seen in awhile from top-to-bottom. Even some of the inconsistent teams, like Athens and LE, have a primetime scorer and if the other kids are scoring, as well, then watch out.

Re: The D2 Logan Sectional
As good as 4-9 are, the top three are REALLY, REALLY good - which makes the dynamic even more complicated. If this was just another year at the top, you could have seen two, maybe even three lower seeds advance. But given how good vc, warren & fu are, I just dont know if its possible.

Re: The D2 Logan Sectional
Unless we have (3) Warren vs (6) Athens. Then that top three is blown up!

Going to be some great games in this sectional. All teams better have the A game rolling. A sub par game will probably send you home from top to bottom.

I wouldn't put money on any game. the best game could be the 1 vs 8. Vinton better score 80Skiisme wrote:Going to be some great games in this sectional. All teams better have the A game rolling. A sub par game will probably send you home from top to bottom.

Athens will have a few common opponents. Sheridan played New Lex twice, and then Morgan - who Athens plays next Tuesday.Raider6309 wrote:I'll have to make a trip to Thornville to see what Sheridan has

You better keep your eye on Logan Elm and Coach Stiverson . Do not think they can go far in Tourney but they might ruin someones party.
Re: The D2 Logan Sectional
Logan Elm has one of the top players in the district in Ridge Young, but their consistency on offense and defense are both concerns heading into the tournament.Truth&fiction wrote:You better keep your eye on Logan Elm and Coach Stiverson . I'd like to see them in person. They look to have some decent sophomores93Bulldog wrote:Athens will have a few common opponents. Sheridan played New Lex twice, and then Morgan - who Athens plays next Tuesday.Raider6309 wrote:I'll have to make a trip to Thornville to see what Sheridan has

Agreed.
Re: The D2 Logan Sectional
Fairfield Union wins 81-40 tonight. I think they are finally healthy again. They were clicking on all cylinders tonight. Hoping for that no 2 seed.

Yea, New Lex is a pretty good 9 seed.EasternDspy wrote:Marietta is a pretty good 8 seed
You could go down the line and say every single team is good compared to where its seeded!

Re: The D2 Logan Sectional
Poor Meigs. They are just a few boys over - and float back and forth between D2 and D3.
They would be fighting for a top 3 or 4 seed in Jackson right now as opposed to a possible 'play in game' in Logan. That is crazy.

Re: The D2 Logan Sectional
Yeah it sucks, and as of right now we have 8 more boys added from the last enrollment figures and looking like we will stay in D2 unless they change the numbers in the Divisions.93Bulldog wrote:Poor Meigs. They are just a few boys over - and float back and forth between D2 and D3.

Re: The D2 Logan Sectional
Competitive balance kicks in next year. It may be enough to drop you back down, I dont know.
Im not sure how that whole system works yet.
