Fairland loses by 22 yesterday at Hilliard Bradley and drops to #2 in the poll.

...so glad that Portsmouth travels to Fairland on Tuesday after a Fairland loss...sarcasm intended

Good stuff! Busy week for #11 Logan.

Tuesday @ #1 Vinton County
Friday vs. #35 Jackson
Saturday @ Watkins Memorial

Logan currently has two wins against the top 8, will they finish this week with 3 wins against the top 8?

Looks really good...can't argue too much. Really not a single team you could greatly argue is 3-4 spots from where you have them.

Still don't have a good feel on Lynchburg Clay or Peebles.

Who did Gallia Academy lose to last week?

Who has each beaten? I never see their scores.

... for those saying that Fairland took on D1 Hilliard Bradley , AT HB ... that they shouldn't drop out of #1 - I thought through that argument ... I looked at the other teams who lost this week - Warren to a 1 loss now 2 loss Meadowbrook team - the Warriors were dropping one position ... Waterford lost to 2 loss Fort Frye - FF would be in the Elite 8 IF they were in the SE District - the H2O boyz were dropping with their loss ... Marietta lost BIG to the same Meadowbrook team that beat Warren by 1 point - the Tigers were dropping out of the top 8 with their loss ... Logan lost to Bloom Carroll/Sheridan lost to TriValley/Chillicothe lost to Vinton County - ALL of these teams were going to drop in the rankings ... granted IF Fairland had played the HB closer THAT might have entered into the discussion BUT they didn't , it was a 20 point game from the end of quarter #3 until the end of the game ...

New Boston wins over Northwest & Rose Hill KY ... with a near miss this week vs St Joe 51-55 ...
Green wins over Covenent WVa & Rock Hill ...

... I should have Northwest & Whiteoak switched around as Northwest's only W is over Whiteoak ... I'll fix that one ...

I struggle with Miami Trace at #4 after the shellacking they received from LE.

:)

Can we get an alternative Elite 8 with Morgan, Fort Frye & Meadowbrook?

I'm curious where you'd have those teams ranked versus our district.

My Eagles play Lynchburg Clay Jan,21 at the Dave Young Classic to finish our New Years stretch against the SHAC. We played Peebles last night they aren't as strong as past years the Gordlley kid is pretty tough to stop under the rim, Indians just not a real deep team. 2 of the Indians 3 loses are from Soc1 teams (Eastern,Western).

It's STILL...early. I'd like to see the qualities wins of the Top 8-15. Some teams schedules aren't quite the same as others. I'd also be interested to know how many coaches have control over their scheduling....

Also...may need to go to a D2- D3/4 Top 8....as if pfloyd doesn't have enough to do...(tongue in cheek)

... Logan Elm can be very dangerous imo ... inconsistency scoring wise by the role players is an major issue BUT when everyone joins the Ridge Young scorefest LE will beat you ... Miami Trace HAS as much or more talent than the majority of the top 20 teams ... THE weak link isn't on the court imo ... I wouldn't want to play either one of these teams in the post season ... Logan Elm will not get a high seed in Logan ... one of the higher seeds is going to have to put it on the line vs the Braves & Coaches Stiverson & Holbert ... if I'm Fairfield Union/Athens/Warren/Vinton County I would be losing a whole lot of sleep between now and sectional seeding time ... that #1 seed is going to be a very very valuable commodity imo ... Meigs has won 7 in a row ... Gallia Academy with 3 losses to date ... New Lex only lost to a very good Morgan squad this past week by one point 59-60 ... Marietta will beat you if you your bench is too short - bring your track shoes ... FU gets deeper with the addition of a PG after one more game ... Warren has lost to only 1 team this season - Meadowbrook by a total of 5 points between the 2 losses to Meadowbrook ... Athens is as deep as any team in the Sectional ... Vinton County IS the best team in the sectional ... Sheridan is the blue collar team in the sectional - nothing flashy /all business/ and all the pieces a good ...

Pfloyd does good work but I have to look at Athens . They have played only really one quality team and that was VC and got beaten pretty bad . Yes they did play LE on Athens Floor but LE is struggling . VC WILL HAVE THEIR WAY with Athens . I will say Athens has one very good player but that is not enough . Hats off to Fairland in traveling to Big town to play some big boy basketball .

Don't worry, you'll get your wish soon enough.

Parkersburg on Tuesday
at No. 2 Fairland on Saturday
at New Lex next Tuesday
at No. 5 Warren next Saturday
at #1 Vinton County on 1/27
at Meigs on 1/31
Bishop Watterson 2/4
#9 Marietta 2/11
at undefeated Morgan on 2/14

I agree totally with pfloyd's rankings.....Vinton should go ahead of a fairland team who not only lost to Hilliard Bradley but lost convincingly by 22 points...Vinton County has a really good team...A team I think would beat Fairland in my opinion....Would love to see both these teams make this game possible.....Also don't count Athens out against Fairland unless their missing players or something.....Fairlands not invincible and if their not hitting 3's very beatable by a lot of teams.......
