Lancaster a very good team, especially if they get off to a hot start like they did against Logan. Lancaster probably wins easily, depends on their shooting.

Philo is down so I think Fort gets them.

Don't see many D1 vs D4 matchups.

They could just save the drive and play Fairfield Christian if they're so willing to play a D4. Could make for a nice gate and a good game. Maybe make a charitable event out of the ticket sales and donate X percentage of the profits to help out a local community cause.

I guess Go Gales? I've heard this is a fine event and it's an enjoyable experience for everyone involved, but if Lancaster is serious about returning to the basketball prowess they once had then they need to do some self-reflection. Nothing against the athletics program @ Philo or the squads at FF and Caldwell, but Lancaster plays in the D1 Central District and in the tough OCC-Ohio — if they're interested in competing at the level necessary to win their league games and to be a player come district tournament time, then they need to play teams at and above their level.

Bear in mind, I write this as someone interested in seeing Lancaster succeed and rebuild their program. I don't necessarily think Lancaster playing a D4 is automatically bad, but Caldwell has been inconsistent this year and might finish third at best in the PVC. Fort Frye is a good D3 but isn't on the level of the teams in Lancaster's league.

Just a slight correction, EasternDspy: Lancaster is actually 3-2. They beat Zanesville in their season opener. It wasn't listed on Arbiter, but they did beat ZHS.

Caldwell/Philo will be a competitive match up, Caldwell is young and inexperienced but has some nice players. Fort will likely beat Philo handily and be competitive with Lancaster. A year ago Caldwell was better than Lancaster, this year that's not the case. I made the trip to Philo last year for this tournament, Caldwell beat Philo and then gave division two regional qualifier Johnstown all they wanted for most of the game. Caldwell clearly isn't on that level this year but I completely expect a solid showing from Fort Frye.

Lancaster was really, really bad two years ago. Not just bad by D1 standards, but truly one of the worst teams period south of I-70, east of Columbus period. I can believe Caldwell being better than LHS two years ago, unsure about last year, but Lancaster is improved this year and decent for D1 standards.

Fort Frye will give a good game. Maybe they can pull the upset? Jacob Arter for Lancaster, though, will be one of the best players FF will see this year and the Gales are now coached by Kent Riggs who is in the 400 win club.

I watched a few things and they're not real big and not super athletic. I think it should be a good game.

Philo is better than their record of 1-3. The core of this team was on the football team that made it to week 12. I think you'll be surprised by what you see, this is easily the best Philo team since they've hosted this event for the past 2-3 seasons and are playing a completely different brand of basketball than in the past. Either way, should make for a couple of days of good basketball!

They did not play Morgan, the game was postponed. West M.(who is 3-2)was the second game of the season. Crooksville is MUCH improved this season and will do damage in their district tournament and that was a game that was never in doubt, Philo lead by 10-12 points until it was time to foul.

Lancaster lost last night 56-49 to Hilliard Davidson. Lancaster seems to be average for a D1 school. I don't think Fort has played any D1 schools in basketball since I've been following in 99. They have played AAA Wv schools but I'm not sure it's the same. Let's hope the Cadets can make it interesting.
