I agree. It was nice to see Alexander keep the intensity up and have some players step up offensively. Norris and Kish were impressive.Orange and Brown wrote:I think Athens will be a very good defensive team this year. They have the horses to score a lot of points as well. Vinton county can shoot from anywhere and will be hard for anyone to beat.
I think Alexander will surprise some folks this year.
VC played at a high level with a lot of confidence.
Go Alex.

... Teams that showed me more than I thought I'd see at the Shriner TVC Preview :
Athens & Vinton County are head & shoulders above the rest of the league BUT I liked what I saw from these schools in this order (Miegs & Eastern were no shows) :
1. Alexander - Luke Kish & Michael Norris are 2 very good PGs ... Chase Harris strong in the paint ... Alex has some very good pieces ...
2. Trimble was a pleasant surprise ... on paper the Tomcats of Coach Caldwell have no size ... none ... 2 players at close too 6-0 tall ... what Howie does have coming out of Trimble/Glouster are a group of kids who work their butts off on the hardwood ! led by Randy Hixson and Tyler Slack then a whole group of 6-7 interchangeable pieces/players who just do it - pound the boards, block out, play hardnosed D, don't back down from anyone kind of players ... Coach Howie & the Tomcats will be fun to watch ...
3. Miller
4. Southern - Blevins, Johnson, Cunningham, Rogers, Pickens ... showed me more than I expected ... good athletes ...
5. Wellston
6. Southern

Did Hooper or Hardy or Ryan Richards play for Trimble Thursday?

... 93dog - I don't believe they played Friday in the preview ... I didn't have their names "circled" in the program as having been on the floor for Trimble ...
