This should be a good game. I think Peebles defensive pressure will hurt Clay, so I am going with Peebles by 10.

Shut King down and you are half way home from there. Do not play a 2-3 zone or Hinze and Gilliland will kill you all night.

Should be a good one. I see Peebles exposing Clay.

Should be a fun one to watch. King is a tough player to shut down. As about as quick as they come. If peebles can control the penetrations, then they have a good chance. But I look for the Panthers to pull this one out in a nail biter.

Notre Dame shut King down both games which took the wind out of their sails. I haven't watched Peebles play yet, so I'm not sure they have a defensive player able to do what Kayser did both times.

Don't get me wrong, Clay is a great team from outside, but their defense gets them in trouble. I feel like their coach loves to run zone, but if a team can shoot from the parameter and heats up, Clay struggles to adjust.

I'll def be watching as I think this will be the marquee matchup of the night.

Clay struggles against straight up man to man D. That explained the losses to Notre Dame. Not sure if Peebles has that same D as Notre Dame put up, but if their able to stop King from penetrating and keeping a Clays offense running smoothly then I see peebles winning by 9. If King gets going, and gets other involved as well as Hinze and Gilliland getting hot from the 3 I could see a 15+ win for Clay. Depends on how each team opens up and who is willing to sit down and D up. Such an exciting first round! Should be a great atmosphere at northwest in a few weeks!

Arey was a defensive specialist on varsity as a freshman during the Justice years I believe.

Arey, Kremins are defensive minded. Two more players,Conley who missed most of last year and part of this year,Schmitz who missed all of last year and half of this year are just getting their legs back. Both came back to active play just after the first of January.in the last few games they have played for arey who had he's nose broken in two places. All are back and playing good defense and knocking down threes and dribble drive and dish. Peebles is deeper now than they have been all year. I look for a good run from Peebles. We are just now deeper than we have been for years.

Areys first game back full strength was just before Christmas. They are a deeper and stronger team than they were Dec and January. Now they have a 9 to 10 man rotation.

Thanks biggdowgg,.We had a tuff week awhile back but I think those tough games may have lit a fire that may be tough to put out. Each game someone else is now stepping up for us . This team reminds me of my 1974 team that got better and made it to the regional finals and played Indian valley south and coach Huggins.I'm feeling pretty good about them now. Good luck to all and one game at a time.

Wouldn't you say being up by 38 on the #1 seed a "good" win? Or Western twice, which just beat eastern pike (#2 seed)?

Try a punctuation or 3 in your paragraph, what a nightmare, gsshh.

Clay is a good team when King is able to drive to the basket and make things happen. If you shut him down, it's difficult for Clay to get their outside shooters good looks. Clay's schedule is equally as hard as anyones, especially Peebles. Top 5 SOC teams can beat anyone at any time. Clay defeated #1 East by 24 points, I think that is pretty impressive. Peebles also lost to Eastern by 12.

Peebles was a lot closer to eastern then 12 points eastern hit free throws at the end we will see what happens wasn't saying clay wasn't a good team just think Peebles will win in a game that could be close or could not be depends on the defense of Peebles but sorry I didn't know you had to worry about punctuation didn't know I was in grammar class

Awful big game here for no talk! I feel whichever team wins can play with Trimble. This one is a hard game to pick!

Each time you take a breathe put in a period. lol I hated english class too.
Clay down by 3 to Eastern with 3 minutes to play. Martin I think, hit back to back 3 pointers and a steal turned it into 11 point game within 30 seconds. Thought the game was competitive until that point. Given up on the comparing scores between teams. Have not seen Peebles this year but know they are probably athletic and believe it will come down to the team that makes shots. Believe this game as the other 4 in this sectional could go either way. Will look forward to it.
