The 1977-78 Hoopsters were pretty good as well. They had some tall boys and lost a very close game to Art Schlichter's Miami Trace team at the Convo.Great basketball game but would have really loved to see the football teams play that year.

Was Scott Fitzgerald the coach of that team?

Wow, heard Misty on the radio say they was scoreless in the second quarter. Better get tough when they come out the second half.

The Chiefs played hard tonight, the shots just wouldn't fall.

Chieftain2009 ... how much do you think the long layoff had on the Purples shooting woes vs Pick North ?

Pfloyd, great question, one that I hadn't really thought of. The Chiefs are typically very good behind the 3-point arc, I can't think of any more than 2 or 3 that they made, I'll have to look at Craig Dunn's LDN story to know for sure. But, I think the long lay off did impact that to an extent.

I thought the Purple & White was playing their best hoops of the season after they took down Warren - both ends of the floor ... holding your opponent to 44 points is outstanding - scoring 31 ? ouch ... it was an excellent learning season for the Chieftains ! it will be interesting to see how it plays out in Coach Riders' season 2.0 ... LHS will miss Mr. Henthorne in the paint - I know that the rest of the starters return ... I know that 80+ percent of the scoring returns as well BUT I don't see that BIG MAN that can replace the strength of KH in the paint ... Henthorne's matchup with Colin Woodside in the paint when he figuratively and literally held his own vs the FU standout big man was a major reason for that "W" early on in the season ...

... I look forward to next season ... hopefully we will schedule enough Southeast district teams to be included in the Elite 8 rankings ! LOL ... Chillicothe goes D1 next year so they too will be back to playing in the Central District post season party ...
