Great finish though and congrats to Waverly
Don’t believe so. I watched it 3x

Crazy tough shot but looked like no hand up on the shot

Another good view of Cobe's shot.
Won’t let me see this one

Waverly 61
McClain 48

Remington-Robertson-Marquez potentially could outscored McClain. I’ll guess those 3 total 40+ points
Idk about those 3 totaling for 40+ points. Sounds like McClain has some tough guard play and that would be difficult for Waverly to do. I do believe tho, in order for Waverly to win one of those 3 guards mentioned needs to have 15+ with the second guard coming in around 10. Also, need a 10+ point game from either Wolf or Dunn. I just don't think all three Waverly guards will be able to score that much combined. Although Waverly is a score by committee kind of team, they don't have one guy who can go out and give you 20 a night regularly. Which I think is what makes them dangerous due to the fact anyone can have a big night. But also is a down fall because they don't have that reliable go to scorer.
McClain put up a big fight but Waverly guards went for 45. Not surprised

I just wonder if he missed it on purpose to make it more difficult for Waverly to get started, easier then an inbounds. I wouldn’t think that was the case but man he missed it bad.
No way, not with 6.6 left. It barely drew iron. Potentially better off had he missed but I definitely want that to be made.
Me too, but just makes one wonder. You go up 3 with a make and assured no less than another OT.
Yeah I would've wanted it made, and honestly I know some like it some don't but had he put McClain up 3 I would've fouled on the inbound. Waverly had no timeouts left and both teams were struggling from the line. Heck I wonder if McClain doesn't clear out and fouls on the rebound if Waverly would've been clutch to hit 2 just to tie it given the magnitude of the game and time left. Doesn't matter, great great game by both teams and a shot Cobe will remember for quite sometime. Heartbreaking for McClain look no farther than free throws in this one as to why they didn't advance, just a tough way to end it. Good Luck to Waverly moving forward looks like you could possibly be on a collision course with Sheridan yet again.

It def grazed the rim. Could easily see it live.

I see it was posted above!

I have always said less than 10 seconds down 2 you gotta foul if opponent has the ball. You have a much better chance of winning the game. At the line they can only tie and must hit both shots then you have the ball and game is tied, worst that can happen is OT. It has to be coached ahead of time!

If they have at least one other guy to rebound instead of just the shooter they would have two guys there to pressure the ball and Cobe doesn’t have a direct uncontested route. Maybe you get the rebound in that situation with a couple guys there. No way does Cobe get to that opportunity if they pressure him.
I think they concentrated on Robertson not getting the ball and felt there was no way Cobe could get the ball and get a good shot off in time.
Hind sight is 20/20...

The only guy that could pressure was "accidentally" taken out by Hayden! :)

Exactly, made no sense to have everybody back past half court. But, we’ll gladly take that strategy....

What a ballgame! I don’t think there’s any way you foul and put him on the line...maybe up 3, but no way up 2. I agree on contesting that rebound. You tell your kids not to foul, but rebound the ball if you can. You have to try to get in front of the dribbler at the end and try to get a hand up, but if you foul him he could shoot three free throws and beat you. In any event, it was an AMAZING shot by Marquez! Trey hit two huge ones in the last minute to even give us a chance...big time freshman performance! I was really impressed with Greenfield. That three headed monster they had was impressive. Myschal is relentless and a very impressive athlete. Penwell has quickness like I’ve only seen out of our guy Remington (did you see him go up over Myschal for that rebound on the inbounds play 😳), and forgive me for not knowing his name...#14...crafty like a fox scoring on any of ways. Best game I’ve seen in a long time!

You could have the guys in the lane and just tell them not to go for the rebound if you’re concerned about a cheap foul. Just strange coaching, but that shouldn’t take away from the amazing shot by Marquez

All the what if’s and most of us agree we would have defended differently but Marquez still had to make an incredible once in a lifetime buzzer beating 30’ shot. It’s all a mute point if he doesn’t hit that shot.
Not to mention the two deep threes nailed by Freshman Trey Robertson with .29 to play and 9.3 to play to put the Tigers in that position.

9 points on three shots with under .30 to play.

Congratulations to Coach Robertson, his staff, the Tigers on their sectional championship. Also the same to UKfanatic and smurray.
