D IV Sectional Final: #5 St. Joe vs #12 Valley

Post by OutsideIn »

Is there a chance that this is going to be a close game or will Valley get blown away?

Valley started to come alive at one point during the season then began trending the wrong way, so it's hard to tell. The 47 point loss to Oak Hill is a major red flag. They're still very young and if I'm not mistaken one of their players is hurt. St. Joe has some upperclassmen that will really want to get their team to the Convo.

I'll go with:

St. Joe 58
Valley 39

Valley should win. 1) Sj joe lives and dies from the 3pt line. They have been hot and cold! 2) St joe's schedule was very weak. I believe they didn't beat a team with a winning record.
3)Valley has played a tougher schedule and should pay off in the post season.

Saint Joe has beat teams with winning records and also have been in close games with Glenwood and Symmes Valley. If you’re gonna say stuff like this, at least fact check it.

Valley lost a freshman guard in the South Webster game who was a solid player (Carter Nichols) I think and if he is back i will give Valley the upper hand if not it's a coin flip

2nd rock Hill game was a blow out. It's understandable that Valley played the better schedule playing in the SOC 2.
the Flyers will still show up and play hard and if they play up to potential they win.

Valley being in the soc II will help them a lot, look at Webster and how they fair come tournament time. I look for Valley to pull out the win.

I know that St. Joe beat Valley in the SOC preview, so I’m not sure how Valley has developed but I believe SJ has developed well. A little streaky at times but seem to play better against better opponents. SJ should have won that New Boston game if it wasn’t for Sexton exploding to carry them to a victory.

Previews don’t mean anything. Waverly played Webster’s JV team lol.
Webster lost to SV by one point in preview and the. Beat them by about 15 mid season

Burg beat NB by 1 without chase Clark

It’s akin to the all star game. Just knocking the rust off

St Joe is hosting Symmes Valley tonight. Guessing there will be some SW and Valley people in attendance.

Look for Valley to head into the offseason with momentum regardless of the outcome in this game. Team with some youth that is capable of developing into a decent squad in future years.

Flyers were down 16 to Symmes Valley tonight heading into the fourth and ended up winning in OT 85-81. A tough team.
