And this one belongs to the Scotties, 58-50 over Sheridan. Matt King (15), Dow Cameron (14) and Jake McLoughlin (11) led the Dawgs in scoring.

With a win over Chillicothe tonight 43-41 the Warren Warriors are making their bid for that #1 or #2 seed at Logan. At 14-5 with their SOS they have to be in the conversation. Wins over Meadowbrook and Chilly this week are 2 really nice wins right b4 the draw.
Year in and year out Maddox gets it done on Ohio St Rt339

Fairfield Union wins by 20 tonight against Teays Valley. With this win tonight I believe they are now deserving of the 1 seed. They are playing well right now and I believe They can keep improving. Woodside was a best tonight.

If VC can get a win over Chilli next week and Sheridan drops another, can VC get that 3 and Sheridan drop to the 4?

Combs might just have the respect to nab that. If VC beats Chilly they can go for the top 3

Man if that happens then it's a rematch of Athens and Sheridan like last year. If Athens gets the 5 and Sheridan the 4. Getting very interesting down the Stretch.

Still a long way to go with many variables. More bad weather this week? Injuries? Sickness?....many factors...and of course, the You never knows.... seriously, how did Athens lose to Wellston? Seriously. Way too much talent....but you never know

Yes, other than that loss to Athens, VC looks to be playing good basketball down the stretch.

Since you asked yes there were Several variables in that game. Butcher did not play 1st half. Hynes went down with ankle injury in the 3rd and didn't return. Chubb foul trouble and sat several minutes in 2nd half. All those factors and lost by 1. Would like to have that one back for sure, a loss is a loss and because of it Athens sits in a 3 way tie for 2nd instead of a 2 way tie for 1st. The Wellston loss still Stings big.

The context is helpful, and Athens has some talent in its own right but they seem to be a nightly puzzle. Don't know what you're going to get.

They have won 5 in a row and all on the road, so lately what you been getting is wins and a couple over quality opponents. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they will win out the regular season, that would be 10 in a row and match their record last season of 13-9.

I will disagree a little on Watterson and St. Charles. In the past they would be great wins, but I'd still consider them pretty decent wins. Both are playing loaded schedules, which knock down their records. If you put them in the MSL, FAC or TVC, they'd be among the best teams.

St. Chuck went to Logan last night and played them to a five-point game, and Logan is one of the better teams in our district. Watterson, I believe, lost by a basket to Ready earlier this season, and Ready is a very athletic, long team that would give many of our teams fits.
Watterson is 1-3 or 1-4 v Athens the past 5 years. Athens can’t win a league title, so please tell me how Watterson is some huge win on the schedule, other than a name? Disclaimer, I know nothing about St Charles.

Watterson hammered Athens pretty good this season. Didn't Vinton just lose to Athens on its home court? I guess, according to your logic, then Vinton isn't very good.

Take a look at the schedule: http://www.dispatch.com/section/search. ... FirstName=

Now substitute Meigs, Nelsonville, Greenfield, Hillsboro, Court House, Circleville, Logan Elm for Westerville North, Dayton Carroll, Hartley, Ready and some of the other schools Watterson is playing and that record looks quite a bit different.

Is Watterson a great win? No. Is it on par with beating a team around here that wins 15 games? Yes.
Actually, probably the worse Vinton team in 15 years, so yeah, one could say Vinton is not real good this season. They definitely are not what Vinton has been. And who cares what Watterson schedule is, a loss is a loss. Funny you guys all cry about respect for the SE and yet you never give the SE any respect yourselves. Just because you see “names” on the front of jersey’s you run out and cream your britches.

Been following Watterson all year in dispatch. They are a solid team. I think 9-7 now, 4-2 in GCL.

I only stated that they deserve to be a quality win for Fairfield union. And I still do.

1-4 and 6-9 are going to be really interested to see next weekend.

Sheridan could make up a lot with a big road win against John Glenn. But, I bet after last night that they wish the Fairfield Union makeup game was before the draw lol

Fairfield Union is rolling again. 2 of their losses are to teams that no one in the Sectional would beat, plus they avenged one of the other 2 losses last night.

Warren has challenged themselves heavily and it has started to pay dividends with some really good wins.

Vinton County may have the least argument for the 1 seed, but if they put it on Chillicothe on Tuesday, then they are right back in the running. A loss pretty much guarantees them a rubber game with Athens in the Sectional Finals.

The dynamic of this sectional is so different than years past. But interesting none the less, especially with Fairland moving up to D2 and lurking in the district. Last 4 years Logan has been deep and talented, this year, top heavy - but Athens, new lex and even LE capable of an upset.
