Fairfield will be a dangerous matchup for any team in the district. They are led by seniors Chris Cox(6'5''/6'6"-Forward...third team all-state last season. One of the most athletic big men in the distict) and Cameron Rolark(5'11"-SG...had 43pts against Adena). Their record is very deceving as the majority of their 9 losses came when Cox was out of action due to a leg injury early in the season.

Incomplete team schedule(Quality wins over D4 Whiteoak, D3 Miami Trace, and a decent D2 East Clinton team):

Clay will have to get Fairfield's big man in foul trouble to stay in this game. They have struggled with teams who have big athletic players. They have also been their own worst enemy trying to shoot from beyond the three point line going 1 -15 against New Boston, 2 - 21 against Symmes Valley and 3 -20 against Green, losing all three games. Unless they either start hitting those or quit shooting them they will be one and done.
Games that Clay should have won and 3pt%. Rock Hill 3-12 (L53-52). Minford 1-14 (L 31-29). Northwest 2-12 (L48-40)
Big wins. Eastern 2-4 (W75-62). Symmes Valley 2-3 (W61-51) Green 5-9 (W63-54)

You have the date as 2/1 in the title. Shouldn't it be 3/1?

Fairfield just lost to #3 seed Hillsboro by 5 points Tuesday WITHOUT Cameron Rolark. Whiteoak has played a killer schedule and Fairfield gave them their most lopsided loss.

Fairfield defeated 14-3 #2 seed D2 Miami Trace....lost @ Manchester by just 1.

If Rolark plays and Cox is not in foul trouble.....I believe Fairfield wins by 10.

I think this will be a tough match up for clay bc when i have seen cox play he is a real quick in the post and on the floor in general so clay will prolly have to to zone them but other then that I think clay should be able to pull this one out

...but they can also hit from three. Cox and Rolark especially. Rolark had 11 treys(43pts) against Adena.

If the kid can hit 11 threes against Clay they will win, but the three is a fickle shot. Some nights they rain in and some nights it seems like there is a lid on the basket. The law of averages always seems to catch up with you. If you end up about 35% at the end of the year, you're doing well. What are Cox's and Rolark's season avg?

I could be wrong but I think one of the biggest differences you will see during this game is the intensity level! Fairfield (along with Whiteoak) is going to bring the intensity be it full or half court. There will be no let down defensively from them. Same goes for Whiteoak. The only teams on their schedules this year who were not at least even with Clay/Green's talent level would be Fayetteville and West Union. The other 8 teams in the SHL are at least equal to Clay/Green. I dont need to talk about their non-conference schedules as they are pretty rediculous for D4 teams. After saying all this - can Whiteoak and Fairfield get beat = yes. They have to play well or at least not have one of their weaker games or it will be a dogfight.

That will be fine with Clay. They seem to play best at higher intensity levels. If it gets into a running game, it could be a high scoring event. Clay is avg about 60 points a a game and has 4 boys avg 10+ ppg. So I hope they let 'em run.

I think the jet lag from Leesburg to Lucasville gives the Panthers the edge.

The Clay players should have to jog/walk to the game......and the ones in pretty decent shape would beat the Fairfield players taking a bus.

Clay and Green may not have the fortune of playing the tougher competition as consistently....but they both have won a lot of games. Like Whiteoak and Fairfield, they are going to come to play and give it their all. I have no doubts at all that they will bring the same "want to win" intensity. A few good rolls and a few good breaks and any of the 4 teams mentioned can win.

I still think if Rolark and Cox are on the court the majority of the game FF wins by double digits.

I think i'm going to take Fairfield by 8. However if Rolark and Cox have a good game i'm sure they will win by double digits.

If Rolarck and Cox have bad games then LF may lose.
